What luck! Let's hope that the songs featured won't be removed and/or replaced, because then we'll have to send complaint letters! Besides, as I recall, many DVD releases of The Chipmunks Go to the Movies had their songs completely intact.

    Examples:

"Funny, We Shrunk the Adults" still had "Short People" by Randy Newman.
"Bigger" still had "I Love Rock and Roll".
"Star Wreck: The Absolutely Final Frontier" still had "Bad Moon Rising" by the Creedence Clearwater Revival.
"Batmunk" still had "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins.

So my hunch is, all of the songs in the new box-set release won't be edited out.

It's good that they're releasing DVDs of Alvin and the Chipmunks. Hopefully, someday they'll start doing season sets.

If so, 20th Century Fox (which did the live-action movie) should release season sets, since they make a lot more money than Paramount (and Paramount's been very iffy with music clearances on their DVD releases of most TV shows, although problems with music clearances for Alvin and the Chipmunks were extremely scarce), and music clearances will be no big problem. Also, if it happens, all episodes should be digitally remastered in Dolby Digital stereo audio, all the title cards should remain intact (with the music in it, too), the brief segments in between episodes which Alvin narrates, the original tone of audio, Spanish language track, and the original credits. And they should have more special features, too.

I really think that they should start doing Season sets rather than just individual releases. Seriously, how many single DVD releases of Alvin and the Chipmunks could they possibly do before putting out season sets?
