It's Valentine's Day and each chipmunk wants a chipette to be their valentine, except Alvin, who doesn't want to ask Brittany because he got dumped on Valentine's Day and doesn't like to celebrate the holiday. Brittany is hoping that Alvin will ask her, but he decides that he will not go to the Valentine's Day Ball. Realizing how depressed Alvin is acting, Simon makes him a recording that he listens to when he's asleep saying how dashing Alvin really is. And everytime Alvin hears this recording, he sneaks out of the house and transforms into "Captain Chipmunk", a suave hero who woos Brittany and asks her to the Valentine's Day Ball. When Alvin stops sleep walking, he doesn't realize that he is in fact Captain Chipmunk, so he doesn't know that Brittany is planning on going to the Valentine's Day Ball with him all along.moreless
