This is a very good episode that shows us the special relationship Deacon Frye develops with one of the boys in his church community. He goes from being selfish to learning the value of being a positive role model for fatherless youth. Sherman Hemsley does a nice job in this episode. One of the better moments includes the scene where the reverend scolds Ernie for using the boy to further some outrageous gambling activities. Ultimately, the deacon learns that it is better to take a gamble on the boys in the community and help them become morally responsible young men.
