This episode features a considerable team effort on the part of the show's three leading actors to (literally) heighten the comic absurdities of a typical 'Amen' plot. Each one has some great scenes here. First, Anna Maria Horsford gets to play Thelma as not only lovelorn and wacky when she leaves the message, but she also gets to be sweet, sincere and more intimate. Second, Sherman Hemsley gets to do some physical comedy with a pigeon during the ledge scenes. And so does Clifton Davis. Another thing I like about this offering is that it provides Thelma a female pal, her friend Jackie. In the fifth and final season, Thelma's closest buddy is probably Amelia (Roz Ryan).
