  • The deacon begs for a second chance to represent Santa Claus. He is rehired and wins the case. At home, Thelma finally makes peace with Reuben's mother.

This is a continuation of the previous episode. The deacon now believes in Nick St. Nicholas' story and is given another opportunity to represent Santa. After some cute scenes in which he calls children (young and old) to the witness stand to testify on behalf of Santa, he finally wins the case. The episode nicely blends elements of the St. Nick story with the theme of a Christian holiday. The broadcast ends with Sherman Hemsley dressed as Santa Claus, handing out gifts to neighborhood children. The cast is assembled in the Frye living room, and they all sing 'Joy to the World' before the closing credits.
