    This is not the funniest episode, but it gives us more insights into the reverend. And Clifton Davis really does a great job showing how conflicted the reverend is about his feelings for a church widow. Of course, the writers have the widow fall for another man, and this conveniently keeps Reuben available for Thelma. Still, there's a tenderness that Davis gets to play in these moments, especially the scene where he goes to tell the widow how he feels. And on a deeper level, I think this episode is showing how the reverend's fate is inextricably bound to the lives and destinies of his individual church members.moreless

    Deacon Fly get a dog, but that\'s not the most important part of today\'s episode. Rev. Gregory is helping a widow getting over the death of her hosband, has ended up falling for her. Only to find out later that she is marrying somebody else. Then towards the end of the segment, the widow found out that she has second thoughs. A mostly fun episode. a fine example of what this series can offer. a character I liked, his name is Rollie. He can bring down Deacon fly with one funny line of dialogue. He\'s the best thing in the show. I\'m watching \"Amen\" on the I network. I hope you do too.moreless
