Fearing he's lost Thelma to Sgt. Burke, Rev. Gregory puts up a fight when she comes home on a weekend pass with the sergeant in tow.
  • Thelma is in the Army now, Reuben is rattled and the hard-nosed Sarge is making moves at Thelma.

This episode would have been a little more enjoyable if the Seargent who eventually displays romantic feelings for Thelma would have been someone else in the military other than her immediate commanding officer.

Anyone viewing this episode with any minimal knowledge of how the military works knows that ... even for a non-commissioned officer ... to get romantically involved with someone directly under your command would invite trouble, possibly a court-martial. None of that was even hinted at in the slightest, so for the episode to go over it required a considerable amount of suspension of belief ... at least for me. As a plot device the Sarge's budding romantic feeling toward Thelma was decent move, though.moreless
