    "Perfect"
Of all the first season episodes of 'Amen,' this one has some of the best dialogue. The speech that Clifton Davis gives to the fellow inmate is exceptional. It shows that this program can truly soar to great heights when it combines humor and serious religious drama. It helps that Davis is a real-life minister, and the Sunday morning sermon in the jail cell is perhaps the show's most inspiring moment (taking a cue from Dr. Martin Luther King). It's too bad they never did a 'best of Amen' retrospective show, for this scene would definitely have had to be included. Sherman Hemsley is also great trying to act tough in jail and does a wonderful job as always with the comic relief.moreless

One of the bretter episode of "Amen" has Rev. Gregory and Deacon fly thrown in the big house. Gregory for aiding a group of refugees and Deacon Fly for comtempt of court for defending him. while there, they meet Willie. Ajail inmate. Onbe of the best scenes in the series has Rev. Gregory preaching to Willie and those who could hear him. I've been watching "Amen": on the I network and watching that show reminds me of growing up around television in the 1980's. I like the opening theme song that gets my juices. This is not only a comedy, but a comedy with a message. That episode of"Amen" is one example of giving hope to those who had no hope at all.moreless
