The deacon worries that he has not lived an interesting life and won't have any exciting stories to tell his unborn grandchild. So he recruits Rolly and a buddy from the church to hit the road with him. Together, they become bikers as free as the wind.
Sherman Hemsley gets the chance to apply the more poignant aspects of his character in this episode. Ernie Frye is experiencing a sort of mid-life crisis, and he wishes to have some experiences that he can someday tell Thelma and Reuben's unborn child. The script calls for him to dress up like a biker and use a motorcycle. Rolly gets dressed up and uses a motorbike, too! The road scenes are filmed inside the studio. Meanwhile, Clifton Davis and Anna Maria Horsford are involved in a subplot that makes use of the idea that says parents should attempt prenatal communication with their babies. Clifton Davis has a cute scene where Reuben speaks baby talk into a microphone that is transmitting sound through Thelma's womb.
