This is the last broadcast of "American Bandstand." It had become the longest-running entertainment series in the history of television. Bandstand began as a local show on WFIL-TV Ch. 6 (1952-1957), then moved to ABC-TV (1957-1987), Syndication (September 1987-August 1988) and the USA Network (April-October 1989).
