This was well worth every single minute (even the limited commercials). Junior never took the bait to fight with his Father or even with potty mouth Jesse. (Side note: The promos said Discovery Channel would not censor this episode, but, WOW, there was a lot of beep this and beep that from both Senior and Jesse. If that is not censoring then I'd hate to see / hear censoring. LOL!)

Obviously the host didn't get the reaction he wanted from Junior and his team, yet, we got to clearly see how Junior runs his company. It was Junior who had his entire team come to Las Vegas and onto the stage. It was also during this episode I clearly realized Junior calls his employees his team, while Senior has a crew. Maybe the difference between team and crew isn't a lot when it comes to building choppers, but I get the feelings for Junior it does and is different.

I'm very happy to see Discovery / the producers had some professional "judges" / commenters after all the comments on the voting being a popularity contest. What I do miss and would love for Discovery to release are the votes (actual count and percentage), as they did in the past.

In the American Chopper forum, I'm suggesting another bike/ chopper build off with categories and criteria, including a 1,000 mile road trip. Honestly, I felt the need for the road trip before this episode, but the exchange between Jesse and Junior on the gas tank solidified my opinion on the need for a ride test to be part of any future contest. Looks are a great important part of any bike, but so is being able to ride it day in and day out. An one gallon tank is not really enough.

After some thought, Junior really missed the opportunity to put Jesse down! HOW?! Well, the real P-51 has auxiliary fuel tanks one can attach to the wings. Given his chopper has a fuel pump, he could also have an optional auxiliary tank (say on the rear fender). As for seat, which really won't be fun to ride for hours, one could have a leather removable seat made that is true to the pilot seat of a P-51. Those two changes could honor the design and have shut Jesse down on this point - at least.

I hope the Discovery Channel does another bike build off either as part of American Chopper Senior vs. Junior or a separate contest. One thought is starting a series about the various contests around the USA and Canada. It could cover existing contests and sponsor its own contests. Time will tell, I suspect this contest won't satisfy viewers forever and the need for more will surface.moreless
