There was a running gag to this episode, where every time Steve was about to be injected, the parents would jab the needle into his body with more than enough force. So much in fact that Francine got the needle stuck in Steve's body and pushed it in rather than remove it.
Starting with this episode, the opening sequence has been revamped. Noticeably absent are the newspaper headlines.
Francine: Have you ever been beaten naked in a gym shower, Stan? One day, when I was showering after gym class, these mean pretty girls caught me and kept scrubbing me all over with soap. I mean, they didn't miss a spot! And even though we were all wet and naked and slippery, they were still able to get me on all fours, and shove my face to the floor! Can you imagine, Stan? Stan: (sitting on the chair, with his face covered in sweat, hiding his crotch with the coat) How did they catch you again, please?
Stan: (on the phone) Hi. I'd like to rent a bouncy castle and a sober clown for my friend Roger, this Saturday. (pause) Well, do you have the number of someone who does have a sober clown? (pause) No, sir. I don't believe I am asking for the moon.
With the new opening montage, this is the one time Roger appears in the car next to Stan with no disguise.
This episode premiered on [adult swim] on October 5, 2008.
Robocop 2 The scene in the secret CIA lab with the robot resembles a scene in Robocop 2, where the "new" robocop takes the drugs and inserts it.

Sixteen Candles The last scene, minus the pubic hair, is also right out of Sixteen Candles.
Episode Title "Sixteen Hundred Candles" is a take on the movie and song, Sixteen Candles.
