This episode was a great instalment of American Dad featuring some insight into Francine's character when her adoptive parents visit the Smiths and take over the house.
Funniest parts were when Francine shown concern for everyone but Klaus who was in earshot, the crow that carefully removed Steve's glasses before pecking him and the firemen sitting on the lawn mesmerised by the fireworks ignited in the ablaze Smith's household.

When Francine's adopted parents stop by for an unannounced stay, Stan is furious that they refuse to assimilate to his "man of the house" ways. After he unsuccessfully tries to give them the boot, he is convinced that finding Francine's birth parents will change things. Meanwhile, Steve tries to live to the extreme in order to get to second base with the class hottie.

This episode only gets a 5 because of Steve's plot

What I liked: Steve blowing his thumb off, the explanation for why Francine is not in the will (because she is smart and well off in life), Steve complaining that he can't feel the girl's boob, "I would have named her Buttercup", amongst a few other things.

This episode did not do much for me. It did not make me laugh a lot and when I did laugh it was not very hard. Both plots bored me but I liked Steve's a little more, particularly the end of it. But I don't know, it felt like something was missing, so my final grade is a C+ or so, I think is fair. Kind of a weak episode by most standards of this show, I think.
  • When Francine's Chinese adoptive parents come over to stay with the smiths, they irritate Stan and family with stereotypes about Chinese people. Then Stan predictably finds Francine's family, who seem to be just the kind of in laws that he always wanted.

I felt a bit insulted watching this episode. The tasteless joke about Hailey having herpes, someone getting their finger blown off with fireworks, monkey dung used on sores, and making a joke about how stereotyped chinese people lived in the past. Quite funny. A predictable show over all, but obviously the weakest show seen in a long time (given what strides it's made since it's first season). Lackluster, and not a show you'd want to introduce people to get familiar with the series.

Now people can only wonder how they're going to do in their next episode; hopefully they've realized what a huge mistake this episode was and work on continuing the humour of the series in a fun interesting tangent.
  • This was a really funny Episode.

I really loved this episode beacause it was extremely funny. I really enjoyed the following bits: 1: When Claus got excluded when Francine listed all the Family members she cared about

2: When Steve lost feeling to his hand and when he said he couldnt feel anything the girl took offence

3: The flashback to when Francine's birth parents were 'Forced' to give her up

4: Finally, Stans song about his birth inlaws.

They were the parts that immediately come to mind, the rest of the show was also very funny and at a high standard. Besides 'Black Mystery month' That was my favourite episode.
  • Francine's parents come to town!

This episode was alright, with Francine's adoptive parents being Asian and annoying, and Stan trying to find Francine's birth parents to see if they'd be better in laws for him. It wasn't anything special, and there were a few lame jokes sprinkled throughout but it isn't a terrible plot.

Steve's subplot with the fireworks and chance at second base was funnier and had a great payoff at the end, and the extreme Steve doesn't last much longer.

Whether it's Roger being fireproof, Stan's arguments with Francine's parents, and the house being destroyed yet again, this episode is still funny, but not a classic by any means.
