What I liked: Roger tricking Stan with the horse, Stan as the horse, Steve using the horse in Stan's body to rise Tuttle and save Snot, Barry saying "fat people disgust me", Stan winning, Roger intentionally making another jockey mad so he would have an enemy, amongst other things.

Good episode. The plot was not that great but there were numerous times I laughed, so because of all of this, my grade is a B- or so, I think is fairmoreless

  • Good episode.

After a mediocre episode of Family Guy, it's good to know that there was an episode of the superior animated show American Dad. There was a plethora of notable lines here, but most importantly the show focused on the Stan and Roger relationship, which when done with a good storyline can be the best dynamic on TV. The two Seth MacFarlane voiced characters are among television's best, and outside of the comment Roger made about making out with him on Christmas Eve, they are usually almost always funny.

But it wasn't just them, there was Steve and his friends, a random fat guy voiced by Richard Kind and the gay couple that made this a laugh-heavy installment of American Dad.moreless

    • Greg: Why are we always holding hands? Terry: So people know we're gay. Greg: Oh, right.

    • Horse Race Announcer: And coming over the finish line, it's Well-I'll-Be-A-Son-of-a-Bitch...finishing dead last! That was misleading only if you were joining us just now. If you watched the entire race, it was perfectly clear! I have only one emotional level to my voice!

    ADD ALLUSIONS
    • One of the segments in which Roger is seen riding Stan, is a clear reference to the 1962 film Lawrence of Arabia.

    • The Horse Whisperer was a 1995 novel, adapted to a film in 1998 starring Robert Redford.

    • Francine: Well, there is one thing you could do for me. Stan: What? Francine: Come here. Win, win! This is a reference to a similar dialogue between Adrian and Rocky in the 1979 movie Rocky II. Even the first seconds of the music starting after the dialogue resemble Bill Conti's "Going The Distance" from the Rocky score.
