  • Stan becomes involved in drag racing and Jeff joins the world of online gaming with Steve when he becomes emotionally depressed about Haley breaking up with him

    9.0
    "Superb"

After Francine tells Stan she's looking for excitement in their marriage, Stan gets in the driver's seat and becomes involved in drag racing to spice things up. Meanwhile, Hayley breaks up with her boyfriend, Jeff, who is emotionally crushed until he joins Steve's world of online gaming. When Hayley finds out, she tries to sabotage their fun. I thought that this was a superb episode of "American Dad". It wasn't my favorite episode but it was very enjoyable. I enjoyed both of the storylines but I thought the online gaming storyline was more funnier and more cooler... well... not as cool as the drag race scenes in Stan's plot but still. I didn't find the Stan/Francine plot to be completely excellent but I still liked it. I really didn't like how Francine thinks that Stan is boring which makes Stan get involved in drag racing so they can have excitement in their marriage. Francine lowered my score a little for that doing to Stan, she should never say he is boring because as long as you are with someone you love, it shouldn't boring. Stan could've died because of what Francine is saying about Stan not being exciting or any of those things. The drag racing scenes are definitely the best part of Stan's plot though... it was super duper cool or "bad@$$" (excuse my language by the way) and it had some "Fast and Furious" into it. As for the Steve/Jeff/Haley plot when Jeff joins the online gaming world with Steve after Haley broke up with Jeff was very good. The animation on the online gaming scenes were very cool and the fight scenes were so epic. The very ending of the episode made me laugh so hard especially when Steve said "Son of a b****". Overall, a superb episode of "American Dad". 9/10

  • Another excellent episode

It was funny how it was a WoW type of episode

Overall, this episode gets a 10 out of 10

Stan gets involved with drag racing to spice things up in his marriage, but things take a turn for the worse when he loses a race and finds out Francine made a bet on the race, money they don't have. Will he come up with the money? Jeff and Haley break up and Jeff starts playing an online role playing game with Steve, and Haley is jealous.

Good episode, I guess. Some of it was kind of boring. I enjoyed both plots a little, but I have to admit, I was bored for some of it. Not one of my favorites, there was just something I did not really like about this episode, and as such, my final grade is a B- or so, I think is fair.
  • In the words of an nice minion... "Simpsons did it!!" ... Yes, but South Park did it first!!!

Now, I know this episodes has been out for ages, but I really wanted to do this review, I think it's one of the rare occasions that I think the episode deserves an actual 10.

The whole "Fast and the Furious" plot worked wonders for me, specially the White snake montage... Just too Cool!!! Roger powering Stan's car it was great, not to mention the fact that when Stans come to him for help drunk in the night, Roger thinks it's another thing Stan wants from him....Ha, ha.

On the other side, the kids playing the warcraft type game was also great, let alone the whole plot of Haley trying to win her ex-boyfriend back, I laughed my ass off when Haley says "The woman you worship talking.." and jeff just slams the door on her whitout even bother to look... I wished I done that Soooo many years ago on one girl.... another moment was when in order to defeat a monster a scuba air thank is introduced to the monster's mouth, just as i saw this I went "Smile for me you soon of a ..." a clear reference to Jaws, one of the great Creature feature movies of all time... Just priceless.Let alone the fact that the whole "LOTR" thing was very cool animated.

Just one question pops in my mind, if South park, Simpsons and American Dad! have already done an episode paying Homage to the Fantasy/Dungeons and Dragons realm, why hasn't any studios bother to make an actual series of that genre, being a serious one, or a comic one, I think Matt Groeing and Trey Parker/Matt stone can come up with a clever plot, and now Seth McFarlane has proven he can too, so what's the hold up, it's not like there's not an audience for it, any manga/anime fan can tell you there are several cool series (Slayers,Sorcerer hunters,Lodoss War, and thousand more)and there a lot of room for a futurama/south park type of "D and D" series....
  • South Park, You have been ripped off.

Come on they stole a basic plot from 2 fast 2 furious and South Park's brilliant episode Make Love, Not Warcraft (also my fave SP ep)so why do they get credit for this episode, man, every now and then there's a certain AD episode I just wish hadn't been made, the first was a Smith in Hand. But it was still a great episode, 10/10, I enjoyed watching it. American Dad! will go on for a longtime because of it's brilliant humour and imaginitve plots, so let us go off singing the AD theme song: Godd morning, USA, I got a feelin' that it's gonna be a wonderful day, The sun in the sky has a smyle on it's face and it's shining a salute to the American race, Oh, boy it's swell to say, good morning USA!
  • Another one of my favorites.

This episode blends great action and very funny humor and amazing animation in the game sequences. I did like Stan drag racing storyline and it had extremely funny parts like when Stan yelled at Roger to wake up and Roger's like it's about and he plays music and lays on his side and Stan says something about Francine and stops the music and is like oh awkward. I cracked up at that that part. Also it was extremely funny when Roger started talking street and had a great action packed car chase scene when Roger threw stuff at the other racers and great action scenes in the game. Overall an amazing episode.
  • Stan takes up drag racing.

Say the following statement and you'll incite a riot on the streets, or at the very least upset some angry 25 year old virgins: American Dad is better than Family Guy and this episode proved it.

The jokes are well-timed and the plot flows smoothly. Instead of two different stories per episode like in Family Guy American Dad puts together a great journey and rewards the viewer with a fun payoff. Stan, unlike Peter Griffin, says nothing but funny lines. His dialogue is not plagued with fart jokes, not enamored with meaningless drivel, he is simply a refreshing, comedically-gifted lead. Klaus and Roger add an interesting dynamic to the show and even though they are exact copies of Brian and Stewie, they're just as entertaining. Hayley and Francine are not spectacular, but very few women (or cartoon women) on TV are.

This would be a great edition to show any potential new fan of the series, or anyone who spends too much time in front of a computer.
  • You can tell by the number of blurbs submitted for this episode (they all bleed on to second pages), that there was plenty to write home about in this one. Can't help but wonder if SethMac is spending more time on this than Family Guy.

    9.2
    "Superb"
There are constant squabbles on the boards as to whether 'American Dad' is catching up with/better than/not as good as 'Family Guy' (they're both good).

In this one, Stan suddenly starts doubting himself when Francine seems to be intrigued by the street racer they met earlier in the evening. Stan tries, with Roger's subtle urging, to compete for Francine's attention in his own, inimitable way.

Meanwhile, Hayley has had enough of Jeff's sensitive, clingy ways and breaks it off with him - only to have second thoughts when he's gone. Jeff ends up playing in Steve's virtual reality video game (where they hookup with Hayley) and much of this episode, on that string, is played in the 'Dragon Scuffle' video-game mode. This was excellently done with tons of clever writing and allusions and, if you are a fan of video games, you had to be glued to your seat, playing with your imaginary joy stick.
  • Too Stan, Too Furious!

    7.7
    "Good"
While the computer game genre is nothing new to cartoons, being done in South Park and The Simpsons, the episode is still good, with quite a few absurd moments and hilarious ones like the suppository and the quick ending to screw over Steve again.

Roger is hilarious in this episode, with his interaction with Stan who is so slow that he doesn’t realise what Francine wants when she gives the least subtle hints ever. Stan’s Fast and Furious parody plot is better and more original than Steve’s with some hilarious moments, like Francine pretending to be Stan’s dream and the final race with pulling everything off, but neither plot is absolutely fantastic or hilarious enough to be a classic.
  • South Park copy-cat... Although very well done.

This is a direct copy of South Park Season 10 Episode 08 Make Love, Not Warcraft which aired only two months ago. However, I couldn't help but enjoy it. As much as I love South Park, (Much more than American Dad!) I must say that this episode was even better than the South Park episode.

I would have rated it a 10 if it were an original idea. As a matter of fact I am rating it a 10, however 5.5 goes to American Dad! and the other 4.5 goes to Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the makers of South Park.

In summary... Awesome episode! It's just too bad it had to be stolen from more talented writers.
  • What a drag!

Stan and Francie enter the world of drag racing as they go up against people half of Stan\'s age. This isn\'t the only good thing in this episode. After breaking up with Hayley, Jeff was pulled into Steve\'s omline gaming. I know, I heard from some people that it\'s a rip off of a \"south Park\" episode, except that I didn\'t see that episode. I probaby will someday. But for right now, I found it original and fun to watch. These two stories are fun to watch. This is the best episode of the season. That show is proof that \"American guy\" has staying power.
  • American Dad may be blamed having copied South Park`s `Make War,Not Warcraft`but from today each shows kinda ressembles each other.Francine needs some exitement and Stan gives her what she wants here a good episode even if a bit of a copy.

Francine is in need of exitment and Stan surprise her watching Too Fast Too Furious 2 and decides he needs to give Francine what she wants. He starts street racing and becomes a champion Francine loves it.On Stan`s nex race she bet 50 000 grands that Stan would win he lost and the other streetracer keeps Francine until he finds the money so that episode is a bit a rip-off of Tokyo Drift.Meanwhile Steve is considered a hero of online gaming by his friends he made a invincible character. When Hayley breaks up with Jeff,he is desperate until he starts playing Steve`s online game Jeff has then no interrest in Hayley and she decides to play that game too and destroy Steve`s character and his life. She tries to get Jeff back but he hates him for destroying Stan`s character.Hayley then decides to find an amullette to get Steve`s character back in life.

A good episode with manny funny moments,it copied South Park a bit so its rating went down but its an amazing episode for American Dad.
  • Good episode, very cool animation during the GAMING sequences.

    7.5
    "Good"
Those of you who says it copied South Park have to realize that this episode was likely animated months ago and is now getting to air. The South Park episode that aired earlier was animated only shortly before it aired. Its a matter of timing. If anything American Dad came up with the plot first and do to oversea animation studios who color the episodes it takes longer for it to reach us the viewers. SP is animated inhouse and can be produced in a very short period of time. Thus why they have more relevent up to date story lines.
  • A fine example. Exactly why I watch this series.

    9.1
    "Superb"
This episode was an improvement from some of the other episodes in this series. I felt that this episode was high quality. It lacked long jokes and political satire, two things that I absolutely despise! There were also no "issues" in this episode! This episode had plenty of humor and the scenes of the fantasy game were fine, which seems contrasting to my usual hatred of "off-topic" scenes. I felt that those scenes from the fantasy game actually added interest to the episode. All in all, I give this episode a 9.1 out of 10 stars fore Very Good. Writers, keep up the good work!
  • This episode was, well, awful.

    "Abysmal"
What? No. I love this show, but I had no issue leaving the room to go get pie in the middle of this episode. And what do I find when I get back? The episode got worse. Yes, yes it did. It's not even over yet and I'm writing this terrible review of it. Last week's episode was awesome, and then we get this. As the review prior to mine pointed out, it was just a rip off of a South Park episode. They pointed out the difference being the rights to WoW, but I would venture to say the other difference is that South Park did it well, and American Dad did not.
  • They stole this idea form south park !!!!!!!!!

    1.0
    "Abysmal"
There stealing from a south park episode and thats normal show steal for show all the time but less then 2 months!? In this episode Dungeons and Wagons Francine gets bored with Stan and wants more fun in their marriage so Stan goes to a street car raceing and starts to win and she starts geting happy with him. While Jeff Starts hangin out with Hayley little brother Steve. Up to this point its there own idea tell they start playing a Coumputer game like World of warcraft just like south park did the only diffence is that south park got permission to use WoW and American Dad did not.
