OK so is he like Roger in that he is not to leave the house/be seen in public because Stan will get into trouble? Has anyone outside the family seen him and heard him speak? I am trying to recall. Thanks!

He's left the house before, but he had to sneak out. I'm not exactly sure what the deal is with him. Since in was the CIA that plotted to switch out his brain, I'm sure he's no secret to Stan's boss. However a talking goldfish would be sure to raise some eyebrows with the public.

And don't forget the episode where Stan accidentally erases Francine's memory by 20 years when he forgets their anniversary

He has left the house but I have never actually seen him talk to anyone else other than the family.

I personally have no idea why they even have Klaus. He doesn't really add anything to the show.

He's there because he is the counterpart to Brian on Family Guy.

Klaus is hilarious! I especially liked in "Bullocks to Stan" when he's pretending that his life is a DVD and he's doing the director's commentary.

He can't. He's always seen in water.

Klaus was funny in yesterday's episode, ranting about the Fabulous Thunderbirds!

If you watch early episodes of AD, you can see why people don't like him. He's kind of a third wheel; they shoehorned him in with weak jokes.

They're much better at using him now. Not only do they use him more overall, but also if they don't need him in an episode they don't use him.

So far this season Klaus has actually had more stories centered around him than Hayley.
