Episode Summary

Steve attempts to use a CIA cloning machine to create a super-hot prom date.

  • Steve and Snots

This episode was far from perfect, but the Steve and Snot chemistry is always great, and Stan did have some good lines, despite an outrageous story for him.

You're always guaranteed laughs with this show. It got a little weird at the end, but this was still enjoyable.
  • Great Season Premiere!

While the episode's beginning may lead one to believe that it's the same cliche "Steve and his horny virgin friends want to score" plot Seth insists on using about thrice every season, this episode was different. Steve and Snot clone two girls to take to prom for some hot afterprom coitus, eliciting criticism from Hailey, who believes that Steve and Snot are disgusting pigs for thinking about "someone's daughter" in that nature. Naturally, our sexually deprived protagonists snub Hailey's preachy advice and sneak into a dressing room to swipe a few DNA samples for their clones. But the situation soon goes awry when the clones are in fact infants with a unusually quick aging process. Ironically, by the time prom actually comes along, both of the boys have developed a paternal bond for their daughters. I don't want to spill anymore beans, since I think the episode is actually better when you're watching it.

Anyhow, this premiere was superb compared to The Simpsons' and Family Guy's premieres, which I found pretty bland IMO. This episode was also kind of 'out there' for me, since it felt like a bit of a tearjerker, especially at the end (like I said before, not spilling the beans). Perhaps I don't watch the series enough, but this was actually the first of its kind (that I've seen) in its entire run. It had a near perfect blend of humor and sadness, very similar to the tactics Futurama used for similar episodes.

Final Grade: A- since the plot was a little predictable.moreless
  • Meh, about middle

Good episode, not hilarious but not terrible.

Plot unfolded as expected with a few really a good jokes along the way. The rest was mediocre. (By comparative standards, ie the Simpsons and FG) Still one of the best shows on the air.
