When Francine discovers that all of their family vacations have been artificially created memories, she gets very angry and demands a real vacation. However, when the vacation seems too good to be true, Francine is convinced it's the work of the CIA and causes the family to suffer the consequences. Meanwhile, Roger attempts to become the greatest actor who ever lived.

Francine learns all the vacation memories she and the kids have had has been a lie when they all learn Stan has goo from the CIA that simulates a perfect vacation. She now wants a real vacation, but things seem too perfect and she thinks she is in the goo and acts crazy. Roger tries to become the greatest actor who ever lived.

Good episode. I liked Roger finally crying on cue. I could have done without the family eating Becky (even if it wasn't seen, it's still pretty gross), but the episode as a whole is pretty good, and so my final grade is a solid B, I think is fair.
  • Most of this episode is all Francine's fault!!!

Great opening to the 3rd season & all of course. My only complaint was that everything that happened from the cruise on to the end was all on Francine's head. If she wasn't so determined to have Sunday dinner with the family, that poor big-boobed girl Becky wouldn't have died, & they wouldn't have eaten her. Now I admit, having Sunday dinner with the fam is ok & all, but despite the goo & all, maybe just maybe, she should've taken Stan's word on that they weren't in the goo at all while on the cruise. All in all, great episode. I'll always love American Dad!!!
  • Good episode, and great season premier!!!

American Dad stick to this type of humor... Great job on the season so far at least... Great!!!!
  • Senseless death mars episode.

Boy, the people who made this episode should go on vacation. this episode is fine, until we meet a compelling character name Becky. Becky is a wobnderful girl that should be part of the show. But shorlty after she was introduced, she was killed in a cave-in ate was eaten by the family. I like "American Dad," but this is the worse episode of the series. worse because one compelling character was killed without reason. Backy should have lived in order to helped the episode, but you know thae people, that sometimes takes things too far. Well, this is it. Hope you're happy now.
  • A pretty goo-oood episode.

The virtual vacation is a hilarious idea, and all of the family using the goo to their own advantage was great but once the real holiday comes around, the comedy seems to go down, with the exception of Francine's paranoia that it was the goo this time, which was great. The island wasn't really funny at all, and when they turn cannibals, it gets a bit too ridiculous and isn't really that funny.

Roger's acting also went downhill pretty fast but remained fairly funny throughout, as did the rest of the episode.

Overall, it's a hilarious concept, but the humour wasn't enough to sustain an entire episode.

Kind of disappointed with this episode I expected a lot more after the first few seasons and the series premiere a few years back. The ending was kind of gross and a sick twist it reminded me a little of The Lord of the Flies for some strange reason probably because I just finished reading it for English II Honors class not even a week back. The show starred all the normal characters, but if you haven't watched in a while one of the characters is new (well until she dies *sorry for spoiler). Anyway I hope the show picks up with it's original comedic parts.
  • With Francine wanting a vacation, and all of Stan's efforts not to go failing, the Smiths go on a cruise.

This episode starts off with Francine wanting to unite the family by having sunday-night-dinner.

But when it is clear the family isn't interested, the family wants to go on a holiday.

But Stan reallt doesn't want to go, so he puts the other three members of the family in tubes with ooze (borrowed from the CIA) so they think the go on holiday, while Stan watches football.

After the discovery, and other attempts by Steve and Hayley, the family goes on a cruise.

Francine doesn't believe it's real and jumps off the ship.

After rescueing her, the family gets stranded on an island, where they are being hunted by the habitants.

While hiding in a cave, the cruise-helper whose name I forgot, gets killed by rocks.

Because they are starving, the family eats her.

Just moments after they ate her, they are discovered by the hunters and are shot.

But they were shot by paintballs, because it was a part off the cruise.

Okay, this was the long summary. Now my reaction to the episode.

Every moment with the Smiths was great. But here are my favorites from this episode.

-After the first discovery, Klaus says: "There is a German saying: don't shoot the fish. There are others, but they mostly refer to genocide"

-Stan saying that the ooze messes up with the uterus, and Hayley feeling het stomach.

-Francine going crazy on the ship.

-The look on Francine, Steve and Hayley's faces after they became cannibals, with Stan acting like nothing happend (especialy great because he was the one who argued the most)

-When Stan said: She's an organ donor.

You might ask why there is nothing about the Roger storyline, whell, I hate the fact that Roger has gone from drunk and lazy alien to alien who goes around town and becomes almost everything (actor, bounty hunter, frat student,... you name it). It messes up some of the great conflicts inside the home.
  • A bit more bizarre than usual.

A fairly good episode, but it just seemed to have a different feel to it, kind of like last week's simpsons. It was a very bizzare storyline with some strange jokes here and there. Still amusing, but definitely the one of the worst since the first season. Hopefully it'll pick up a little bit next week.
