Many of you may have seen this video, which was uploaded onto YouTube about two weeks ago, but for those who haven't: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtBrwY5X0RM .

This production company, Blue Sky Productions (not the same that made the Ice Age movies, mind you), is planning on creating a season 3 of ADJL out of their studio in Vancouver. They are looking for voice actors to play the parts of various characters (which characters are needed can obviously be found in the video).

A member of Blue Sky also stopped by the ADJL Fan Forums. That can be found here: http://www.americandragon.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=saveadjl&action=display&thread=4227&page=1 .

So this is kinda interesting, eh? I mean, they definitely do seem professional, which is more than most of these types of unofficial types of projects can say. Is it legitimate? Is anything actually going to come from it? Hell if I know. But at the very least, it's something... and this fandom could use some life. So there ya go, in case anyone around here that hadn't heard the news yet was interested.

Yes, it's very cool. I think that the only way it won't happen is if there aren't enough actors.

That was my thought as well. And to be perfectly honest with you, I don't think it's going to. So, I mean, unless they somehow get a Jeff Bennett type that can do multiple voices, we could have a problem.

I'd try to help, but I can't do impressions to save my life. =']

I only hope they don't try to score any money out of this or Disney, who would have already made the third season on their own if they were clever enough, will send an army of lawyers to stop the project.

Yeah, I had worries about that myself at the onset... ESPECIALLY if they started asking for "monetary donations," as that's when it starts to sound like a scam. They've assured us, however, that they will not be doing that and understand the grounds on which Disney could send them a cease and desist order. Currently, their only plans in terms of making money is on DVD sales of the series, which they would plan to sell somewhere online. That's something Disney could have a problem with; I don't really know for sure since it's not being sold in stores or anything. But I guess it would have to actually get to the point where they're making DVDs before we need to worry about that.

This is great! Hopefully they get good impressionists who sound just like the real actors. And anyone think of this: if Disney sees this being successful, they might finally catch on and give an official season.

Doubt it, Obi. The voice actors are my one fear--the only thing that can make it so that it won't end up being made. What if there aren't enough people for all the characters?

Hmm. That is a thought. I guess we just have to wait and hope that there are enough people.

True. But then again, to be going to all this trouble, something tells me they put a bit of time and effort into the scripts. So I think it'll be good. A thought that crossed my mind, does anyone know who they are for sure? Is it possible its Matt and Eddie or other people who worked on the show and were determined that they weren't gonna let Disney keep them from telling the story they wanted? I know thats unlikely, but it would be cool if it was them.

I have no idea who these guys are; they don't have a website or anything of the sort that one could look at to get a better understanding of the company. The only names I know are not names that were affiliated with ADJL when it was being made previously, I know that almost for sure. All I do know is that they claim they're from Vancouver, though the guy posting on the ADJL FFs is coming out of Edmonton (not exactly THAT far away from Vancouver, but still). We really don't have much on them but their word, and like I said, they seem professional enough. Certainly the type that wouldn't be making anything half-assed.

Matt and Eddie ran an unofficial amdrag blog, they were producers or something.

I know who they were. I'm saying that the people I know of that are affiliated are NOT Matt and Eddie.

Wow! These fools are serious! They're paying and everything.

Are you sure they are legit? Can they do this, wihtout getting copyrighted?

Trust me, I have definitely done the rounds to try to figure out whether they're legit or not. Thus far, my efforts haven't exposed anything for or against them. It probably helps, as I've said, that they don't have a website or any other such page on them on the internet. They're certainly not doing anything that screams 'unprofessional' or anything, so I'm kinda inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.

As for the copyright issue, Mark Ferrule (the one who is posting on the ADJL FFs) says that they don't THINK it'll be a problem as long as they avoid selling the eventual DVDs in stores or anything. Whether or not that's actually the truth or not is not really in my realm of knowledge; I don't know the specifics of what you have to do in order for a company like Disney to get you for copyright.

So a lot, obviously, is still not known about this project, but I assume more will be revealed in the coming weeks, especially if anyone around here ends up being cast as one of the voices.

I almost wonder would they care? If Disney finds out would they 1) even remember that was their show, and 2) do anything about it.

Or, best case scenario, they see this become hugely popular and finally realize they could benefit from bringing it back, and then we get an official season 3. But thats not likely.
