  • Jake accidentally shows Trixie and Spud that he is a dragon!

    9.2
    "Superb"
I think this was an awesome episode, because Trixie and Spud now know that Jake is a dragon, and from that episode on they help him in his dragon duties, I think it was about time that Trixie and Spud knew it, because it was a bit of boring that Jake always had to hide it to them.
And also to see how Trixie Freaks out with Fu the talking dog is very funny and also that Mr. Rotwood now thinks that Jake is a dragon is very interesting for the plot of the series.
So I can only say that this was a really good episode of ADJL!moreless

  • Professor Rotwood nearly exposes Jake's secret. Jake's friends find out that Jake is a dragon.

    9.6
    "Superb"
This episode is very revealing. As you can see on the summary, Jake's friends find out Jake is a dragon, and, not only that but Jake's mythical creatures teacher manages to bribe Jake into taking pictures of himself "dragoning up"! Jake gets put in a cage and then is nearly exposed by his teacher Professor Rotwood. Then, though, Jake's friends unexpectenly save Jake and end up putting Professor Rotwood in jail. So as you can see this is why I think this episode is revealing. It showed us some major things like one of Jake's enemies and his friends figure out he's a dragon. Overall, 9.6 this episode was fantastic.moreless
  • *Major Spoilers* This episode made me stay on for the first season. (I have watched it more ever since the second season premere.)

The plotline was not much, but it told me that the show would change overtime. You see, when I try to watch new TV shows, I need to see if they have one thing. Continuity. I am talking about character development, adding new characters for reasons that do not involve falling popularity, mistakes that will affect the rest of the series, and sometimes, major character deaths. (not that will see it on Disney Channel) "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" are perfect examples of this. When the show first started, Spud and Trixie did not know about Jake's secret idendity. However, I did rember see a trailer of Jake's dragon form falling in front of Trixie and Spud. I waited to see that scene and sure enough, it was in this episode. I was a little concerned that Jake would actually use the mind-erace potion on his friends and therefore, be like most animated shows that always try to keep the status-quo. However, once he poured it into the plant insted of their drinks, I knew that this was the kind of show for me. Spud and Trixie are now part of Jake's team. There was even an episode that focused on them and Fu Dog watching over the shop while Jake and Gramps were on vacation.moreless

    • How could Rotwood have the ripped photos of Jake's dragon form at the end of the episode if he had given them back to Jake after refusing to pay for them?

    • In both instances when the photos are shown prior to Jake printing them out (live and on the computer screen), the backgrounds are clearly visible. When the printouts Jake makes appear in all successive scenes, it's just Jake (in dragon form) on a white sheet of paper.

    • We find out Trixie's last name in the episode. It's Carter.

    • The gold piece that the leprechaun handed Jake could of been worth a lot more or even worse a lot less.

    • When Spud sits on Jake's computer turning it on, there are three photos of Jake dragoning up, then three photos of Jake posing in dragon form. But Haley never took any pictures when Jake dragoned up.

    • For being obsesed with magical creatures Rotwood dosn't know that much about them. (Response: There have been a lot of misconception about magical creatures according to the show, and he only mentioned innacuracies about dragon claws and scales. Besides, he might have been thinking of a dragon of a different nationality. Dragons from different areas are unique)

    • Jake, Spud, and Trixie's plan would have never worked. The bottom of the crystal Trixie's parents had said 5 of 100. The one the bought would have a different number, therefore her parents would have noticed.

    • Spud: I wonder if my mom even knows her lasagna escaped.

    • Store owner: That will be $600 wrapped Trixie: Did you just say $600 Spud: How much for it un-wrapped?

    • Trixie: Should'nt you be on the wheel? Grandpa: I don't have a license. Trixie: But the talking dog does. Grandpa: Well, he has a dog license. Fu : Hey, the talking dog is trying to concentrate over here.

    • Trixie: tapping on Jake's head (in dragon form) Is it dead? Spud: It's still breathing. (Opens Jake's mouth) Breathing fire. (Jake farts) Out of both ends. Trixie: Breathin' and tootin' fire, hold fast.

    • Trixie: Jake. He's a dragon, ain't he? Grandpa: (nervous) Jake? A dragon? No! Ah, the imagination of the young is like a... butterfly in the rain. Spud: Jake's a dragon, but that probably means you're one too. Right? Grandpa: (still nervous) Well, I... Fu Dog: Cut the act, Gramps. They know. How ya doing, kids? Trixie: AAAHHH!!! It's that creepy dog puppet! And look, it really talks. Fu dog: Very perceptive, sweetheart. Check out the king-sized brain on this one. Spud: After today, nothing will ever surprise me again.

    • Spud: 599..600... Wait a minute! We just lost $10.63! Trixie: I'm doomed! Doomed! Spud: She's losing it again! Woman, get a grip!

    • Trixie: Oh no! Not mom's suitton crystal! Grandma: Trixe? What's that about the crystal? Trixie: No nothing, grandma. We're cool. I was just introducing my new friend, Crystal. (nudges Spud) Spud: Oh, right. Ahem! (high-pitched voice) Yeah, I'm Crystal. Nice place you got here Trixie. And that Spud is one cool and hot... (Trixie nudges Spud) Spud: Ow!

    • Spud: The dragon ate Jake? Aw man, what a way to go. Trixie: (frantically) NO! The dragon is Jake!

    • Jake: Say what?! You wouldn't know a dragon if it took a bite out of your butt! Rotwood: You flaunt your ignorance, Mr. Long. Dragons go for the throat area, and have acute allergies to human buttoxes.

    • Rotwood: That's a very nice tattoo.

    • Spud: My third toe is longer then all my other toes. Trixie: Keep that to yourself.

    • Trixie: Shouldn't you be behind the wheel? Grandpa: I don't have a license. Trixie: Oh, but the talking dog does? Grandpa: Well, he has a dog license.

    • Jake: (as a dragon encaged in Rotwood's armored truck) Trixie! Spud! (Deep voice) I mean, uh, I'm a big, scary dragon! Rawr! Trixie: Chill it Jake! We know it's you!

    • Spud: (after seeing the blurred photograph) Whoa, it looks like my mom's lasagna. My mom's lasagna flying and doing kung-fu. (makes karate noises) Rotwood: Nein! This is not any pasta!

    • Trixie: Jake? A dragon? I do not believe it!

    • Title: Fairly Odd Parents Professor Rootwood seems to act very similar to Mr. Crocker on the Fairly Odd Parents. Both are observe about something magical, both aren't believed when they say they saw one (magical creature), both aren't respected by there students, and both are suspicious of the main character being or associated with a magical creature (in Crocker's case fairly god parents, in Rootwoods case dragons).

    • Haley: "My brother doesn't want anybody to know that he sleeps with a night light every night sence he was two." This quote also was said in the Kim Possible episode 'Hidden Tallent'.

    • Title: Mr. Holland's Opus This title is a reference to the movie Mr. Holland's Opus.

    • Jake: "It's way better than that lasagna picture you took." Jake getting picture of himself as the American Dragon for money is reference to Spiderman. Peter Parker takes pictures of himself as Spiderman for money, ironically the story of Spiderman is set where Jake lives, New York City.
