American Dragon: Jake Long

I Remember Watching This Show So Much! But Like Most Disney Cartoons, It Lasts Only 3 Years Before Being Completely Booted From The Channel. This Is On Disney XD But At 2:00 AM. I Mean How The H**l Are We Going To See It At That Time? At Least Put On When We're Up! Please Bring It Back!

The thing that attracted me most to this series was the fact that it cleverly fused humor with action. Another great aspect of the series was the mythical creatures and interesting story lines. Episodes were never boring and they were always original. After the show 'changed' it's art for the second season, it seemed as if the story telling and the presentation improved too. Every episode was intereting to watch and I think they should bring this show back for new episodes. Although the ending was great (one of the best episodes of this series), this show deserves to continue one with new episodes and characters.

American Dragon: Jake Long isnt a bad show, but it isnt my person taste. I dont really like the concept that dragons are actually human they just transform into dragons. Also, dragons are thought of and very very often portrayed as large flying dinosaur-like creature, but in American Dragon: Jake Long, they are small... about the size of a tall human. Now they changed the look of it, and it looks weird, but probably wont be much different... not bad, but can be better

Disney took one of Nickeldeon's horrible quality shows and made it into a very good quality, entertaining, funny show that anyone would actually want to watch.



American dragon: Jake Long is about a kid who has the power to turn into a dragon (not into a human ghost, like that Danny Phantom nonsense) and has to protect the magical underworld from being threatened from enemies like the Dark Dragon, Hunts clan and more. At the same time Jake has to keep his dragon powers, and other beings, a secret from non magical beings. The only non magical beings that know Jake's secret are his good friends Trixie and Spud.

Honestly not a bad concept but a terrible delivery. I really like these kinds of fantasy adventure shows so i gave this one a chance but at the end of it I was pretty disappointed. The idea of the show was pretty cool even though there have been different variations of the idea of kid with powers must protect city I forgave that because in all honesty it is a cliche that I kinda like. What killed it for me was the characters.



The little sister was annoying. I'll just leave it at that. Trying to get away with everything by acting cute really gets stale after awhile and it comes off really vain when she just naturally expects it.



The love interest Rose was an interesting idea, that she was working for the other side but also in love with the main character was a cliche that i was willing to forgive because once again who doesn't find drama interesting, however we as the audience and I feel like Jake himself barley got to know her. Besides her character role set up what else was there to her? We didn't really get to know her personality in depth and her transition from bad guy to good guy was barley glanced over. All in all she was kinda a cop out.



the two best friends were just generic. I mean come on how many shows are there out there that have two supporting best friends. ultimate kids show cliche!

The dad too. Seriously we get it parents aren't cool how many times do we need to learn that?



Finally we have the main character jake. Honestly the disney corporation was just trying to make him so cool, everything about him was a stereotype, even the stereotype that all asians are short. Seriously the kid skateboarded, spoke in stereotypical slang, liked rap that was popular for the time, and had plenty of attitude. Everything about this kid is a pop culture reverence to what kids do now a days. they want him to be so relatable and yet so cool to the kids watching the show they go too overboard and we get nothing but a stereotype.



All in all this show could have been saved had they given the characters more depth and made them more unique and individualistic rather than try and fail to appeal to what's in at the time. you will never create a timeless show if you are too worried about pop culture.

well jake long thinks he just a average 13 teen year old who skateboards but in reality he later finds out he has a extended chinese family that he does not know yet and he can transform into a fire breathing dragon he gets help from others like his friends and other chinses members to help teach him the ways and the use of of his powers and to help stop the bad guys in the show to me this reminds me of other cartoon shows but its still a pretty decent one that on last two years but was still really good i thought

It's so sad that they stop showing new episodes of American dragon Jake long.They could not even make a sequel to the show I mean come on.A lot of people liked American dragon Jake long.I was so sad when I saw that American dragon Jake long stopped showing new shows.so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so sad,depressed and angry at the producer who canceled it.

I love American Dragon: Jake Long! It is my favorite Disney Channel show other than Kim Possible and The Proud Family. American Dragon has very good potential and shows a lot of great creativity, and an endless imagination with it's theme of magical creatures! This is definitely a very enjoyable and creative animated show that stars Jake Long as the main character! He is an ordinary boy who lives in New York City, but you know what's cool? He is also a dragon! He can turn into his dragon form to ward off evil and chaos in his city, he must protect it! That is why he is the awesome and legendary American Dragon! This show has the best characters, action, and settings too! There can be a lot of epic battles in this show too! This is why it is so creative and fun to watch, it shows magical creatures hiding from humans to protect their lives and not start chaos and not become exctinct. Wouldn't it be cool if that was true in real life too? Anyway here are some great characters in the show with good roles! We got Jake Long as the main character, and has two parents, and a little sister who is Haley Long! He also lives with his Grandpa and Fu Dog! Fu Dog I think is a cool and funny talking dog! There is also the girl Jake likes, her name is Rose! But she actually works undercover for the Huntsclan! Jake's main two biggest enemies in this show are The Dark Dragon and The Hunstclan! After two great seasons in this show, he managed to defeat both of them. However, it feels like this show has ended too early, leaving many other epic episodes and great key figures in the show (like Jake and Rose getting back together) unfinished. Or unavailable as of yet. This show is very successful and I sure would love for it to come back with a third season, but for now, enjoy watching reruns on Disney XD! Go ahead and watch it! You shan't be disappointed!

Ok, American Dragon: Jake Long. A show about a kid who turns into a dragon when he yells "DRAGON UP" and fire surrounds him. It is similar to Danny Phantom, though the show is not a total rip off. (Danny yells "GOING GHOST" and rings move up and he transforms) It is ok to watch sometimes, but they changed the style of the characters in the second season and it kinda annoyed me. Plus, Jake's voice, ugh...yuck. Seriously, this show is good to watch sometimes, but other times it can get pretty annoying. Especially Rose. I HATE Rose. And how the people who create it pick ONLY ONE couple to focus on.

I first discovered this show two years ago and have been a fan ever since. The action is good and the comedy top-notch. My favorite thing has to be the story of Rose. It is such a good show with likeable characters and good plots.It's only too bad it was cancelled after two seasons. So keep on fighting for season 3. In a world filled with Hannah Montana we need good shows like this to remind us "Disney isn't all bad." So if you want a show filled with action, humor,and good story lines check out American Dragon : Jake Long.

In short, this show is pretty bad. The theme song is bad because they never got good singers to perform it, the voice cast is terrible, the plot is interesting in some ways, but the overall idea of a guy who turns into a dragon is cliche. The worst thing about this show is that the animators got too lazy in the second season. The overall drop in animation, scripting, and humor plummeted. The only good thing about this show was the first season, but the second season? Well, don't even waste your time trying to sit through that! It's pretty bad...

This show's story is about a teenage kid named Jake Long where he just doesn't take on certain things at his school, there's also a special twist and fabulous idea about this show: Jake can transform into a dragon! He also has a destiny carried on from his family's history (including his grandfather) to stop evil magical creatures from causing mayhem to the world and cause the world to be nothing but filled wiht terror, peril, and chaos where you are ruled over by evil magical creatures. Its a good thing Jake is there to stop them and also the huntsclan from destroying magical creatures since they also slay good magical creatures too and not evil ones. Jake must save the day! Everything about this show is cool and awesome, it is animated gold with a creative imagination set into the show, there's so many awesome fantasy creatures in it and awesome likeable characters (magical and human!) Other than Jake's monster-fighting duties, there is some events that occur at school, and there's also a particular girl focused on, and her name is Rose. Rose I can't resist saying is hot too! Well other than that there are other great things about this show like certain magical themed plots in every episode, and also other family members like Jake's sister and parents. There's also his friends Spud and Trixie. This is another golden show that definitely deserves to have more seasons.

This is a good show. it needs to come back. And jake needs to be fatter. That would be like sooooooo cool. Jake has been fat a few times in many episodes. All of those times, it was cool to see him like that. I think a lot of people would like to see our jake long get fat again.

Many issues that are dealt, faced and are overcomed in this series is love, hate, lies, trust, betrayal and most of all war. These problems are solved within this series, and gives the audiences an example of how to overcome their own situations. I know I think this show should have been given more credit and should have been kept running longer. This TV series with superb animation had been produced with a lot of effort, and had outstanding results of being turned into one of the best animated TV shows ever, a story about a boy who goes by the name Jake Long, and a great family of two parents and a little sister with an added good quality rise, but that's not all, we got a classic idea of having a world where it is set to be normal, but you just know there's something juicy hiding in the background, and this show points that out in an outstanding way of showing that fantasy creatres can be real, they are just hiding from mortal eyes for good reasons. But if is exciting since it is Jake's destiny to stop an evil magic and dark fantasy creatures that are becoming more known, known a sthe dark dragon, and we also got an evil gang known as the Huntsclan. This is where Jake's heroism comes in, as his grandpa made him the next dragon savior to protect the world from evil ruling. Awesome characters were produced in this show, in certain episodes we got Jake coming across cool mystical powered creatures (like the Oracle sisters for example) and we also got other creatures like Leprachauns too. This was a show that I always loved to watch and it never got old, since it also has great character designs and a lot of effort put into the characters, like how hot thye tried to make Rose, pure genius. These are the precise reasons as to why some people (like me) are practically begging for this show to be renewed to see more great adventures of Jake Long because two seasons was not enough for an outstanding show such as this, pure classic creative ideas definitely want some people desiring to see more, DC do the right thng and bring this show back! But still, evne though this show has been canceled, what are you waiting for? Flip the channel to DC whenever they air this show to watch some more super awesome creative episodes!

look, this was THE MOST mind draining show on earth. in fact, this show is so bad, i don't know why i'm taking my time to write a review for it. i hate the episodes, bad animation, the wost voice cast in the history of cartoons, and the characters were a total nightmare. lets face it. the idea is way over used. a dragon saving the world. boo! check please! i'm out of here! oh and rose, possibly the most annoying character in the history of tv. look, disagree if you want, but this show is so totaly lame. i'm glad it's over.

The first time I watched an episode of American Dragon, I didn't think it was as good as everyone says it is because I'm usually just not that up on action cartoons. Seriously, I used to take karate and I made it up to Red Belt 3 years later, but that's when I found it a little extreme. I usually don't even enjoy watching people do karate as of now. But watching more episodes, I found it to be pretty good. Season 1 was probably my favorite season just because it's older and it was around before TV started going downhill. But Season 2's pretty good, too. More drama, more lessons, etc. And another thing I like about this show is voiceovers like Jeff Bennett and John DiMaggio. And the animation is pretty good, too. So here's a little advice to everyone reading this review: If you don't like series the first time you see it, just try again. It can't hurt! That worked for me with this show. So overall, it's actually pretty good for a superhero show.

The Dark Dragon loyal servents creat a pportal that brings back the Dark Dragon. Mean wile Rose and her family move back to New York and Rose and Jake are Boyfriend and Girl friend again. Jakes Dragon skills are over the roof and rose is stronger faster and better than ever. But little do they know that the Dark Dragonhas come back and he brought some friends to. Wile the Dark Dragon was trapped in the portal he met up with other dragons that had been trapped in there and turnned then evil to so they could inilate and destroy the magical world and then in the mean time take over the world. The Dark dragon has come up with some type of idea. It is some type of mind control potion that would go into every bodys drinking supply making them under a mind control under the Dark Dragon. As he has everything set up he need the blood of the American Dragon and the Blood of the Chineese Dragon. Which are Jake long and Youshi Jakes Grandfather. Then in a month or two jake was capured and blood was taking fro him and putting into the potin. Youshi was then next captured by the Dark Dragon but the Dark Dragon wanted to fight him one last time before he had destroyed him. Youshi looked like he was winning but the Dark Dragons Dark power had taken over. Then Hunts girl came into play again wile she was helping jake and his grandfather and helped defeate the dark dragon but the only way to destroy the Dark Dragon and the spell was to pour blood of the Darkest dragon into it and it will destroy the darkest one. Youshi and rose quickly did it and the Jake was let free from his unconscisness. Then Chang and the other loyal servant had taken the rest of the Dark Dragons and fled from that spot and then Youshi had a feeling that they were going to bring back something that isnt suppost to come back and it wasnt the Dark Dragon either..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

It had it all: Drama, humor, conflict, Romance. I can't believe that the producers just up and decided to stop making new episodes. The show still has a lot of potential, and deserves a thrid season. There are still a lot of unanswered questions:

What happened to Chang and Bananas B after the fight in Hong Kong?

How will Jake and Rose work things out from long Distance?

Did Jake and Rose spend a lot of time together during Jake's stay in Hong Kong?

What will Jake's high-school life be like?

What is Rose's twin sister Like? and Why haven't we seen her?

Are there any other members of the Huntsclan left aside from #88 and #89 (you know, like banished members)?

Who was Jake's grandmother and what was she like?

What are the relatives on Jonathan's side of the family like?

Jake Long is a descendant of a long line of dragons, and it is his duty to protect the community of magical creatures secretly, his father doesn't know, while his professor tries desperately to show everyone Jake's dragon form and the existence of magical creatures. Jake lives in New York and is trained by his grandpa. Jake sometimes tries to avoid his duty, but always solve the problems he causes in the end. I like this show a lot, both seasons, even though the animation and character design changed. I believe season 2 has become interesting and haven't lost its originality.

"Jack Long: American Dragon" had the potential to be a satire on dragons but, it's just another teen show. That not saying it's bad, it's just it could've been better. "American Dragon" is about a teenage who finds out he's part of a long line of dragons in his family (just his mother's side). He must as expected must use his powers to protect New York from evil magical creatures like orcs and elves or something like that. "American Dragon" is very amusing and entreating but, I wanted more. This could've been a satire on dragons or dragon clichés instead of a show about teen life except the teen is a dragon. Sometimes it's very annoying when, Jake dances and says crap like "raise the roof like you just don't care" or "give me hey, hoe". This could get annoying to the extreme level of annoying. The show also tries to be like the original Batman series when they say one-liners. Here the one-liners are unfunny and just stupid but, in batman they're funny and stupid.



"American Dragon" could've been better but, I did like it marginally.

Disney seriously shouldn't have camcelled this. It's agreat funny show. The jokes are original and it has a great plot line. Although I wish that Jake's sister Halley never became a dragon(she annoys the crap out of me esspecially in season 2).It was still a good show. My fave charcter was Trixie. I like her because of her attitude she always cracked me up with her jokes and so did Jake. Spud was intresting. He's funny and all but the thing I don't get about him is that he's a really smart kid but yet he doesn't use his knowledge in school. It's pretty werid.

This show has to be one of the GREATEST television shows I've ever watched!

I really enjoyed watching this ever since it came on for the first time!

I may have not watched the second season as much as the first but, overall, I'd have to admit that the second season rocked!!!! :)

I LOVE American Dragon Jake Long!

Quite unfortunate Disney Channel gave this Show the axe, but it was nice while it lasted, who knows when this Show will start running again, I hope it does. I think Dinsey Channel will make the right choice of renewing this Show sometime in the future, it sure would make me proud. Now for a quick Recap: This is a story of a Teenage boy who has a family secret: He can transform into a Red Dragon, because its his destiny to conquer Fantasy Baddies that are in fact real, they're just good at hiding form Mortal Eyes. I t was a great Show, but unfortunately was another good classic that I think wasn't quite given enought time and ended it too quickly with only 2 Seasons...ah well, the Wrap-up is: I, again, think it would be nice for tyhis Show to be brought back.

This has to be one of the least appreciated shows I have ever heard of. It is one of the best and most popular shows Disney Channel has ever put out. They just don't seem to realize that they also need to appeal to the older crowd to be successful. This show got only two seasons,(would've been one, but everything else was doing horrible) and everybody who watched this show knows that the plotline was rushed.I even noticed in the last episode that the characters were talking faster than usual, just because Disney can't give the show an hour finale. Everything they put out(minus the very rare exception) deserves to be cut after one episode, but they all get an hour finale, sometimes even longer. I mean, teenagers and pre-teens can actually can enjoy the problems that the characters encounter, compared to the biggest problem in other shows being, "what am I going to wear today" or "does this belt match this purse?". If thats the best they can come up with, I'm surprised they're still getting people to watch.

This show is so awsome. I cant stop whatching it cuz it is so cool and funny to see him do al those things and who doesnt dream to be as powerfull as a dragon but he just is one. I am a writer I write story about the midal ages so there always get dragons involved they are my favorit creatures you can let them do anything so it is always something special. And jake also is so normal in some things just witch kid cant relate anything to him???

I think nowone cuz he also is an orthenary school boy who strugles whit is homework :)

Honestly, when I watched this show for the first time, I didn't like it at all.

There are some things in this show that annoys me while watching, but out of that, the story is great and the characters are very charmy.



What makes the show a little less good, it for example the backgrounds. The colours are boring, gray and the small details can disturb while watching. Also, the characters emotions (especially in season 1) is pretty boring.

And the plots can be really complicated sometimes, so you really have to listen carefully to what they say in order to get what happens.



But I learned to love this show in two years or so, and began to appreciate things like Spud's personality, Trixie's language and Jake's rapping. xD

The whole thing turned out better in season 2, the characters got more simple, and their expressions got improved.



Otherwise, I really like the idea with dragons.

And since I really like mythical creatures and legends, it's fun to watch when you recognize them.

Bring it back. I hope Disney Channel opens its eyes and sees that...this show was the Bomb!!! I mean this was a really good show, had action, romance, a plot, and comedy. Since I love dogs my favorite character is of course the dog, cause he's hilarious. Though Spud always cracked me up. I just love this whole show period, and I find it disheartening when it's gettin treated like a pile of S***.

If I was you Disney Channel, I would try all I can to bring the show back to the channel, because it would just make some goddamn sense!
