American Dragon: Jake Long

After a huge shock from the American Dragon: Jake Long animation change, I found this episode mildly amusing. Jake and his friends discover from the oracle twins (in their terrible S.2 animation style) that the Huntsman is planning some terrible after Huntsgirl failed to slay the American Dragon and transferred schools. Jake and Spud must now go undercover as Huntsclan Trainees and find out more on what the Huntsman is planning.

They end up at a secret Huntsclan Training Facility through a tele-transportation beam. After looking around, they bump into Jake's long lost friend, Rose. She tells them that she can only leave the Academy after slaying a dragon!

Well, she ends up fighting him in an arena at the Academy, at just before the battle, alone they do something that has been long awaited: their first kiss :P

For the first new episode I've viewed, I loved it!

This episode is one of the best. I forgot about a new one airing that night so when I finally remembered and turned it on it was at the part where Rose had just "slain" Jake. I didn't know until I watched it again what had happened. It took three times watching it before it finally dawned on me that they kissed for the first time. I was happy for Jake as he found Rose after all that time. Not too happy about Brad getting her away from Jake at the end though. This is another must see for fans. Rose is back, and this time she's on Jake's side. But finally Jake! I was getting impatient with you! One of the best of the series.

In this episode we met #88 and #89 of the huntsclan. Fu and gramps keep an eye on #88 and #89 as Jake and Spud assume the identities of #88 and #89 and go to the Huntsclan training academy. While there, they encounter Rose. She tells them that the Huntsman is planning something big, but since her mess up during the Grand Equinox Hunt (letting Jake go), the Huntsman doesn't tell her anything anymore. They work together to try and find a way to the main computer. But soon, #88 and #89 escape and return to the Huntsclan and expose jake as an imposter and a dragon. jake is captured, and the Huntsman says that the dragon and Huntsgirl will fight to death in the arena. they find away to fake jakes death in the arena and allow Jake and Spud to escape. Jake insists that rose come with him, but she refuses and tell him that he cant save her.in the end, we find that the huntsmaster has let her return to New York after "killing" the american dragon(jake)

The episode kicks off in the schools lunchroom where Jake, Trixie and Spud are discussing the upcoming Fall dance. Spud says he doesn't know who to take to the dance, and hes worried about what Trixie will do. But Trixie gets asked by Kyle Wilkins. The two then ask who Jake is going to take, but he says he will go on his own. Trixie and Spud are shocked about this saying that there must be someone he wants to take. Jake opens his locker revealing his picture of Rose and sighs "not really." Then the Orcale twins show saying that Kara had a vision about the huntsclan destroying all magical creatures. Jake then says it was just like what Rose told him in his dream. Gramps, Fu, Jake, Trixie and Spud capture two Huntsclan Trainees (88 & 89) by intercepting their teleportation, which was sending them to a Huntsclan Acadmey up state. Spud and Jake go undercover to retrieve the info about the Huntsmans plan.



When they arrive they are sent to a dragon slaying class. The teacher asks Jake to take part in a demonstration from someone who has faced dragons before. That someone is Rose. Jake is shocked that Rose is here. Spud says that she was teaching a class on slaying dragons and that Jake can't trust her. The two then sneak off to find the info needed on Spud's laptop. But they are caught by Rose who is shocked to see Jake here.



Jake and Rose hug and she asks what he's doing here. Jake says he's been looking for her and that they need info about the Huntsman's plan. Rose then says that she doesn't know anything and that she got sent back here for messing up on the field. She tries to get them to the computer vault but they have to get back to there rooms, before they get caught. Rose tells Jake that she can help him get there and that its too late for Jake to save her (she needs to slay a dragon to get out).



The Acadmey is having a slayer shindig and Rose explains that it may be there only distraction to get to the computer vault. So on the night they slip out of the dance floor and download the information. Rose tells the two to head for the teleportation platform while she runs in the other direction. Jake stops and says to Spud that they cant leave her here, and runs back towards Rose.



Unfortunatley 88 and 89 have escaped gramps and arrive back in time to tell the Hunstman about two imposters. Jake runs around the corner to see 88, 89, Rose and the Huntsman all standing there. The Huntsman captures Jake in dragon form and says to Rose that if she slays Jake she can return to New York. Jake and Rose plan a fake death for Jake by using a potion. They are in a lift on their way to fight when they share their short first kiss.



The battle starts and Jake falls to the ground and drinks the potion (unseen), so everyone thinks hes dead. Rose is allowed back to New York where she attends school again with Jake.

Jake and Spud go undercover to get in to the Huntsclan school. They enoucnter Rose. Finaly a kiss!



I really loved this episode. Rose and Jake finaly have kiss witch is good news for me. Also, #88 and #89 make their debute in this episode. #88 is my favorate person so far in American Dragon : Jake Long. Kyle Massy voices him. I'm not a big fan of Kyle Massy but he is doing a great job at being a voice for #88. Anyway, this episode was very funny, full of action, and did I mesion Jake and Rose kiss? Any fan will love this episode. Really!

a very special episode one of my favorites so much action so little romance at least they kissed for the SECOND time in their life but they didnt kiss for that long well writtin at the begining sarah had a vision ''i see a circle of sculls magical creatures crying in agony... witch means this episode is kind of conected to homecoming it cleverly plotted rose comes back yay! jake and rose forever! jake and rose forever! jake rose forever!!!!! anyway a personal favorite! jake would give his life for rose sorry jake rose forever! anyway y'al peace! stay tuned!

very cool show, first very good show in the series... i especially like the part that jake & rose kiss, and also when spud starts offending rose 4 slaying jake and jake wakes up, it's pretty funny, lol. it starts with the oracle twins telling jake that the huntsclan has a plan 2 destroy all magical creatures and saying that jake & spud were going 2 get into the academy, which they do by trapping #88 and #89 and going desguised as them (funny part when spud breaks the code that the dragons were trying to break 4 hundreds of years). They are in class when they find out that rose is teaching kids 2 slay dragons at the academy, and she says that the underbelly and behind the left ear were dragon's weak spots. Later at night they try to sneak into the computer room to pass some codes 2 the pc, but rose catches them and finds out what they are doing, and ends up helping them at the fall dance. they get a distraction(u said what about me??) and get the codes, but jake turns back when they are getting away to try to "save" rose. but the huntsclan guards catch him and rose has to slay him. Jake says 2 rose that that way she could go back to field, and the next day before they fight, on jakes "last request", they *finally* kiss. then u see them fighting each other, until jake lands next 2 this misterious bottle with purple liquid and rose supposedly slays him (behind the left ear). then we see spud next to jakes body and rose comes in, and jake wakes up. they finally leave in the teleportation room and you see jake the next day at the dance and rose comes. she says that she came back to nyc but the huntsmaster was watching her, so they have 2 b careful. this is where the show ends****

This the first time we get to see Rose in person for season 2. This is also the first time we see the Oracle Twins. This was a very funny episode, and Jake and Rose finally kiss. One funny thing that kept on happening was when Trixie kept on saying how she was going to the dance with Kyle Wilkins. And another funny thing was when those two girls kept on fighting over Spud. And the first time Spud and Jake were in the dragon class, I thought it was hilarious when Spud was talking about when he flicks Jake behind his left ear at the skatepark snackbar. AThis episode was awesome.

A fabulous episode of American Dragon: Jake Long, "The Academy," shows the relationship between Jake and Rose. Jake and Rose finally kiss! Jake finally helps Rose out of the Huntsclan Academy with a clever plan. Rose goes back to New York City and goes to the same school as Jake again. There are new characters introduced such as the Huntsclan trainees who are number 88 and number 89! Kyle Massey voices as one of them! This is a great episode becuase it had romance, drama, action, and much more that helped it become special. All of this made this one episode a very special episode.

This has got to be my favorite episode of the whole series so far. I'm glad we finally get to see Rose again. I was afraid that she might have been taken off the show or something. It was funny to see Spud and Jake disguise themselves as members of the Huntsclan to sneak into the academy. I laughed when they blew up that one classroom while trying to make a potion that would kill a dragon. I liked the ending scene where Rose and Jake are fighting. I like how Rose decided to use the useless potion instead of actually killing Jake. I also like #88 and #89. They are hilarious!

This is a great episode. Jake reunites with his soulmate and true love, Rose. It is also cool how jake and spud infiltrate the huntsclan. The debut of numbers 88 and 89 was really good. In this episode Jake Finally kisses Rose. They do it in a cage right before their fake battle. After that Jake and Rose have a really convincing fake battle in the huntsclan arena. To me the absolute funniest part was when after Rose figuratively " slayed " Jake in his dragon form. Y E A H ! ! ! ! !

ONE of the best episodes in the series

Jake and Rose finally kiss eachother. Jake saves Rose and Rose comes back to New York. She helps Jake unfoil the Huntsmasters evil plan. There is dancing hugging and kissing in this episode. It is so romantic. This is a must see episode. Jake and Rose are definitely the perfect couple. Jake and one of his best friends Spud go undercover as huntsclan trainesse and they find Rose. Jake and Rose definitely show more clear feelings for eachother. After all they are soulmates. There relationship keeps growing and growing. They are definitely the perfect couple and definely soulmates. It is so romantic that they finally kissed. You can tell that they really liked the kiss to. This is definitly a must see episode. Keep the romance coming. Jake and Rose Together Forever.

Love it! Rose and Jake finly lock lips! We get to see where Rose is coming from! Boy growing up in that place and she still so pretty hum? I guess looks can be deciving! Still I kinda see in the end her join Jake in fornt the Huntsmaster and giving him a piec of her mind as she goes to undo all the damnge they done!

I loved this episode a lot. It's great to finally see Jake and Rose kiss. I always knew that they would get together and it's nice to see that their first kiss was done during a life or death moment, as it matches with the overall tone of their relationship. In addition, I wanted to add that I actually like the new animation a lot. Yes, I know a lot of people have had issues with it. And even when I first saw it, my exact words when were \\\"MY EYES, IT BURNNNSSS!\\\". But nonetheless, the animation has grown on me. I particularlly like the way Jake\\\'s face is drawn in the new animation. He looks older, like a teenger and he is dare I say \\\"HOT!!!!\\\" now. Because before, he just looked like an immature and arrgoant little 10 year old boy. Now, he looks more mature and I really like the fact that he isn\\\'t using some much slang since Dante Basco has an amazing voice that shouldn\\\'t be clouded by so much unecessary lingo. Anyways, the only thing that got me confused about the eppie was Spud\\\'s role. Since when did he become a computer wiz? For most of season 1 he came off as well... les than intelligent. Now he knows everything about hacking and computers. Where did that come from???? Also, I didn\\\'t get that whole Trixie and what\\\'s his name. Doesn\\\'t Trixie have a crush on Spud or at least that\\\'s what I picked up on? Other than that, best episode so far.

After so many fantasies and going closer together Jae finally manage to plant one on Rose's lips, although it probably would've been better if it wasn't before they had to fight each other in a ring. And in the end she returns to Jake's school, and as the episodes develope, she accepts Jake as his boyfriend, dispite having Brad just take her away from Jake at the end. She should've slapped Brad for just grabbing her by the arm forcing her to dance with him. Jake should've also just skapped Brad for doing that. I know that's what I would've done if someone tried to take my girl away from me.

I loved this episode!!!!!! I love all the Jake and Rose episodes!!! FINALLY they kissed!!!!! It had a good stotyline and plot.For some reason Spud is like a genuis with computers.When did this happen? This episode was very dramitic near the end though. But finally Jake and Rose kissed!!!!!I knew it had to happen soon!!!!I just can stop saying that i loved this episode!!!!!!Best of them all in my opinon.Most of the Jake and Rose episodes are very dramitic and romantic i guess.Kinda overborad for a kids show.Im trying not sound like a girl watching a soap! Well its the best episode!!!!!!!!!!

this was not my favorite episode it went by kinda slow and it didnt have as many funny parts as some of the other episodes. but it was not bad, it had its good parts like spud asking girls out and trixy going with the guy she wanted to go with. seeing rose again was cool too, i was glad she helped jake so much and that she went back to school.

According to the production code, "The Academy" is the 4th episode of the 2nd Season.



When I saw the episode for the first time...I saw it again, because it was awesome. It has everything: action, comedy and romance in the first place (including a school dance). The Jake/Rose relationship is now officially started since they kissed. The plot of the episode itself was interesting though: Jake and Spud must go undercover as two Huntsboys named #88 and #89 in the Huntsclan Academy in order to stop the Huntsman and his ultimate "master plan", but when they meet Rose, things get more difficult for Jake.



The episode show us a lot of romance between Jake/Rose as I said before, but if you pay attention in the beginning, you can also see how Spud is upset when he discovers that Trixie and Kyle (Trixie's crush) will go to the School Dance togheter. IMO, this is obviously an 'hint' for a possible upcoming relationship between Spud & Trixie. Let's see what will happen in the future...



Due to its romance (Rose/Jake and a bit of Trixie/Spud), its action sequences and its comedy, this episode deserves a 10, it's a "must see", be sure to watch it.

I love this episode and it is the best of the series!!! Rose looks more feminine and pretty in the second season. This is one of the episodes i've been waiting for!!! It was sooo hilrious and breath taking, it really was...

I want to review the exciting, happy, and funny moments of this excellent episode! The school dance is near and Trixie has a date and Spud and Jake are bummed. Spud despertly wishes to go with Trixie. Jake wants to go with Rose badly and wishes he could find her. Fu dog builds a machine to track Huntsclan telportation so they can catch Huntclan members to uncover the Huntsclan's plot. They find cluelless and stupid 88 and 89. It was funny to see them pepped to slay their first dragon but see Jake and Granpa in dragon form and run off like babies. I loved it when Jake said "who are these clowns." Granpa makes Jake and Spud to go undercover in the Huntsclan Academy to get the master computer that has the plan in it. Spud finds out and he knows more about technology in this epsiode which is weird. Spud and Jake enter the academy and have to enter a to enter the academy. It was funny and surprising to see the girls fall for Spud and fight over him. The school like Jake said had Huntsclan jocks, nerds, regular kids and hotties stated by Spud, just like in any school. In the class Dragon Slaying 101 the britsh teacher asked his assistant, Rose aka Huntgirl to do a demostation. Rose was not like the other students she was called Huntsgirl and not #78 or #44 like other students. It was funny when the teacher called on Jake to do a demo on a dragon and Jake said he hated dragons and was against them. After, Jake and Spud made a potion in science class that was meant to kill dragons actually saved lives, Spud and Jake got punishment. Punishment as in, for the Huntsclan get attacked by a Krylock. Rose helped Jake turn off the stadium lights so Jake could turn into a dragon and defeat the Krylock and then escape. When some guard turned on the lights, Spud was in the cneter and Jake was gone anditlookedlike Spud killed the monster.



The Huntsman and 88 and 89 found out and kidnapped him and said he was a imposter and Jake was trying to get the Huntslcan's masterplan with the help of Rose. The Huntsman offered Rose to return to fight with him after he slayed Jake, who they kidnapped.



Theres more, yes but it was the best episode!!! I loved it!!! Jake and Rose kissed!!! Yes! And, Rose ended up back at school and with the Huntsman. I loved this episode!

THEY FINALLY KISSED!! ITS ABOUT FREAKIN' TIME!! in spud's words, 'i was about to get impatient with you guys.'



of course, i thought they were really going to have to fight it out to the death, which would have really ticked me off. thank god for spud's accidental potion.



and finally!! spud gets some respect from the ladies! okay, so they were crazy ninja girls, but beggars can't be choosers, right?



but the ending kind of made me wonder. is rose really helping them? or is she just making it appear so and is really working in some master plan of the Huntsmaster?



hmmm. questions, questions.....

Why is Brad even in the show? And why doesn't Rose just tell him that she likes Jake? She can pretend to fight her crush (Jake) but can't get rid of a guy that she hates? That just doesn't make any sense. But Trixie got annoying too when she wouldn't stop talking about Kyle Willkans asking her out. When Rose found Jake it was too fast. I mean she just picked up his mask and found him. But I loved it when girls we're fighting over spud. It was also funny at the end when spud said "Would you ladies mind, having a kungfu battle over me?" Or he said something like that and then then they slapped him. I love this show! That's why I tape it.

You just have to watch this episode. I expected a little less excitement from such an episode like this but I guess I'm accusing season two too quickly. If you actually take the time to watch the episode, you realize how decent and actually enjoyable it is. Especially since it's a good focus for Jake and Rose. It might not have the original plan of being aired as the third episode, but come on! It's still a good start to the season. Overall, I find this a very awesome episode. The action, romance, mystery, and everything pulls it in together to make one very well-put episode. If Disney were to make more episodes in the same quality as this, I would love to say that ADJL is probably going to be, and always will be, a great show. :)

i absoulutly love thise episode it really left me hanging after the hunted so when i saw the the acadamy its just what i wanted to happen and the plot was so totally amazing on how the planned everything to bad jake never got the info that he needed but at least rose is working for him as a double agent sort of thing do you think the huntsman will find out

I swear everytime ADJL shows a new ep it just continues to top itself, again and again. They just get better and better each time!



The build up a lot of new hype and expectation with each ep that airs, and everytime they live up it, take it further and do this eps better then I could imagine.



And The Academy was no exception! I loved this ep! It was an absolute dream sequence, and I could not have done it any bette myself. Personally, it is now my favourite ADJL episode (Something finally beat the Hunted :lol:) packed from start to finish with a sense of action, humour and even the J/R romance we\'d been waiting to see for months.



This is an absolute must see, do not miss this ep or believe me, you would kill yourself if you knew how good it was you really would.

The whole episode, top to bottom is phenomenal! The first part I like is meeting #88 and 89. What's so hilarious about that is when #88 keeps talking about how he's gonna slay his first dragon, but right when Jake and Gramps show up, they run away. Another part that was exciting to me is when Rose finds out Jake and Spud are there. That part I really liked. The next part was when Jake and Spud did the potion test. After they failed Jake said, "Okay what do you guys have here; Detention, Demerits...", Cut to an elevator scene, where Spud asks what they are being thrown to,I tohught that was funny. Also, the battle to the death was very clever. I never would have guessed that Jakes potion would be used again. Also, and I am absolutely sure I speak for everyone who likes this show, Rose and Jake's first real life kiss. All of these things led up to an outstanding and unbeatable episode. But...we'll have to wait til' the future to see if that's right. So, obviously, i'm giving this episode the highest score possible. I'm giving it a perfect 10, A+ for the best episode for anytihng on TV EVER!!!

It's been hard for some fans of American Dragon, trying to cope with the complete overhaul in animation for their brand-new season. Some scoffed, some yelled, and others wept at the sight of this change, relying on only their superficial senses to judge. Concluding the rantings of animation complainers, though, "The Academy" really shows the kind of promise that the second season holds for all fans of the show.



A grim prophecy from the Oracle Twins (reprised by Tara Strong) forcasts a doomsday plan from the Huntsman to eliminate all magical creatures once and for all, a warning that aligns with a similar message preached by Rose in the "Half Baked" episode. In order to get the specifics upon this supposedly massive, tragic plot, Jake and Spud pose as recently-captured Huntsclan trainees #88 (Kyle Massey, That's So Raven) and #89 (Nicholas Brendon, Buffy) and go undercover in a secret Huntsclan Training Academy for in-training and current members of the group. Unexpectedly, Jake encounters Rose--as Huntsgirl--at the academy (and vice-versa), and things quickly escalade from there.



The show really helps to bring out a different view for an evil organization that was rather left to mysterious origins in the first season, showcasing a harsh, yet familiar environment for a Huntsclan school. The rather quick pacing for this episode leaves some of the background to be passed over far more quickly than you would like it to be.



As the real treat for this episode though, there are more continuing developments for the relationship of Jake and Rose, which help to infuse the nature of the show with a surprisingly darker tone. It's an interesting evolution for the show, as it helps to take the situation more seriously, while also presenting new themes--self-sacrifice being a prominent one--to develop the characters. Oh, and it also helps that this is the first episode where the pair actually has their first real kiss; definetely a plus.



The one downfall for the episode is just that it goes through itself too quickly, leaving you kind of left a few steps behind on just the general outlook for the episode's premise. It's not a great hinderance for the episode, but it certainly could have paced itself a bit more.



Singular qualm aside, this show should really be the episode that gets people past superficial complaints to truly enjoy what Season 2 is offering (along with "Half Baked", if you weren't won over by that alone). By seeing this episode, I have a hard time looking back on much of Season 1; it looks so much tamer in comparison. This season is starting to show a stunning improvement for the show, and "The Academy" is at the center of it.

This episode shows a variaty of thing. First, the Oricle Twins redesign. I was surprised when I first saw them like that but now I think It helps with the're personalities. Second, Spud material. He defenitly shines in this episode, espesialy when it comes to girls fighting over him. Very Funny! Finally, and most importantly, Rose. She and Jake have had a bumpy relationship. But it is great to see those two back together. Not to mention that they finally kissed!!

A few other good moments involve the two Huntsboys. (Nicholas Brendon is a good voice actor. #89 didn't sound like Xander at all!) I think season 2 is going to be superior compared to the first one.

I just saw this episode and it was really good.This episode is a turning point. It revealed everything about Rose like where she is and why she's there.It told alot.



The episode is about when the oracles tell Jake about an evil plan the Huntsman organisation is planning.They then intercept a teleportation of 2 huntsboys (88 and 89) and they pretend to be them to get into the Huntsman academy and to try and find out the plan.Of course Jake runs into Rose.



It's a very funny and great episode that you really,really can't afford to miss because it's to revealing.
