  • Jake can't do all stuff at once, and decides to clone himself.

So, Jake made a lot of clones: A clone for School, a clone for Bunny-Hopping something, a clone for Taking out the trash, a clone for the camp Jonathan wrote Jake to, and a Clone to play with Haley, so Jake would have plenty of time to do dragon training and play around. This episode also features something like a cellphone, Jake's PMA: Personal Magic Assistant, which looked pretty much like a cellphone, but with a magical twist. Jake wanted to make another clone, but beacuse he couldn't have to much power, he tried to use the filter that helped him to, but he used the wrong filter, and made a bad clone. When Brad challenged him and was making fun of him, Jake's bad clone beat Brad up. Jake then had to fight with his clone, who was going to take over Jake himself, but Jake got his other clones back to his body, thus giving him the power to make the bad clone dissapear.

    Nice episode thar.
  • An extra funny episode for an extra amount of Jakes.

A great new power for Jake to comically misuse. Another part of of the gag that Jake is always using his powers for personal gain.

The episode goes like this. Jake is swamped with work and has no free time (some of this work includes Dragon Training, Mid Mid Terms, Helping Trixie in a Jump Rope Tournament, Scouts and doing his Chorus).

So when jake finds out about a new power he uses it to get ahead in his schedule. But then he acciendently makes a evil copy of himself. Now he must defeat his clone.

At the end of the episode he figures out how to manage his time.

According to the production code, \"The Dopplerganger Gang\" is the 9th episode of this awesome 2nd Season of \"American Dragon: Jake Long\".

If you think that the shapesfhiting power in the Season 1 episode named \"Shapeshifter\" was cool, think again. \"The Dopplerganger Gang\" show us one of the coolest \'Dragon Powers\'. In fact, Jake learns that a Dragon is able to clone himself. He soon starts to create dopplerganger copies of himself in order to have more free time. But things get worse when one of the dopplerganger is actually evil. Yang Jake makes his first appaerance in the series, showing us how evil he is. In order to get stronger and more powerful, Yang Jake starts to absorb the other dopplerganger copies, becoming stronger than the *real* Jake. Fortunately, Jake succeeds at defeating his dark side, and everything comes back to normal when the other dopplergangers disappear. However, Yang Jake may return in future episodes, who knows.

The episode itself was very good, clearly not the best, but still enjoyable.
  • jake clones himself

this was a pretty good episode. mostly because i really liked the way all of his clones acted, they were all so cute! i was suprised that jake didnt mind that lots of people liked his clones better. the only clone i didnt like was his bad one of corse. i was really upsrt when the bad one got to all the other clones, i also didnt like that fu dog had no faith in jake. but other than all that it was a good episode.
  • A great episode, but I think Yang Jake is coming back.

I very much liked this episode. I didn't get to see it on the original air date because i'm always on vacation. When I did get to see it, I liked it a lot. The only thing is that I think Yang Jake is coming back. When I originaly saw this episode I was suprised by th efact that Yang Jake "died" at the end. I think that later thhis season he's gonna come back and team up with someone. There isn't an episode on Jeffnet that has that description, but I think he's coming back. So, over all, I give this a 9, or A-.

I wonder if there is going to be more episodes we'll see Yang Jake. After Fu Dog gave Jake a Chi Enhancer, so he could make clones and here are all the clones :

    0. Birthday Suit

    1. Maid

    2. Babysitter

    3. Duble- Dutch

    4. Cougar Scout

    5. Bookworm

    6. Negative/Yang

Anyways, after Jake gets bored and spies on his Double Gangers, Jake wanted to take over the Double- Dutch one, but the Jump Rope tangles Brad.

So he makes another clone by using Negative chi to make another clone, his Yang version.

This Episode is funny to watch because of the Clones, except for the Babysitter one, he scares me.

Its about time for a episode like this to air on Disney Channel. This episode is very amazing and adventerous. Jake has a new ability to make dragon copies so he can do multiple missions!!! But, the idea is not used. Used is not the same in different Tv shows!!! I love this episode! Also, Jake's evil side was cool and hot!!!
  • Yet another cloning of a nice installment for the new season.

So, getting off the intial excitement of the plot-heavy episodes that helped to kick off the second season, we must venture back into the "normal" episodes. You know, the standalone plots that deal with Jake's (or another character's) certain problems in life, and his (or her) own overcoming of the conflict, resulting in a valuable life-lesson learned. Yeah, it doesn't sound as exciting as the drama that's been witnessed so far, but the series has to backtrack to this. Season comparisons are soon coming to an end, and we must start to focus on simply the content by itself. So, how does this episode stand up as one of the "normies" of Season 2?

Jake's hectic schedule of school, home chores, double-dutch practice with friends (where'd this come from?), wilderness-survival tactics, and dragon training have caused the teen to become exhausted and deprived of the precious outlet of sleep. Enter a surprise dragon training session that reveals a new ability for Jake: the ability to create a doppelganger of one's self. This new power soon grants Jake solace from his work-load as he uses a chi-energy amplifier to make multiple doppelgangers of himself, specifically assigned to each facet of his life. Things soon go awry, as a final doppelganger created (through accidental use of a negative-chi amplifier) turns against the will of Jake, and goes off to transcend his status as simply a "copy".

The episode is mainly comedy-based, and a lot of the stuff does exhibit the kind of humor these plots of the series are known for. Aspects of Jake's life start to be surprisingly startled by the singular-purpose doppelgangers, and some lead to acts such as random celebratory jigs (complete with random kid-with-a-tuba). Very nice writing, and less hampered by the annoying dialouge that was present in Season 1 episodes.

Despite this story's less focus on action for the majority of its length, this episode still helps to exhibit the more graphic angle that the second season is taking. Specifics in the action sequences show some more extreme effects, such as Dragon Jake collapsing an entire system of fire-escapes as he falls to the ground. It's a really neat new kind of style being brought to the action portion of the show that's assisted by the new animation's ability to quickly get into more intense moments.

Sadly, the villain for the episode--dubbed as "Yang Jake" by fans, though never given a name in the episode--is short-lived. He was actually a likable kind of antagonist: not so different from its better-half that it shoved its attitude in your face, yet different enough to exhibit its evil persona. Hopefully, he can make a re-appearance in a future episode.

Overall, the episode wasn't the kind of classic that the two former premiering episodes were, but it was definetely an enjoyable installment. It's a nice translation of the applied style for the season (so far) to an episode focused off the overall series plot. If this is any indication of things to come, it seems like the "plot-heavy" episodes won't be the only solace for fans this season.
