Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (7)

    • Rose's twin doesn't appear at all in this episode, despite Rose finding out she was a twin in 'Dreamscape.'

    • Rose's parents don't speak at all, despite being in this episode.

    • This is the third time Jake and Rose have kissed, the first being in "The Academy", second being in "Love Cruise". Rose and Jake also kiss in the season premiere "Half-Baked", but it is in a dream.

    • When Rose kisses Jake, her gloves are on in one moment. Then as the screen changes, they disappear for a second

    • Fu Dog says that the Dark Dragon is the only dragon that has ever turned evil. However, Chang, who is also a dragon, is evil. (Reply: It's possible that Fu meant that the Dark Dragon was the first dragon who ever went bad on his own. While Chang was no doubt corrupted by the Dark Dragon)

    • Mr. Long finds out about the magical world and that he has married into a family of dragons in this episode.

    • Rose returns in this episode.

  • QUOTES (9)

    • Jake: Dad, you just found out today you married into a family of magical reptiles. You seem to be taking it pretty well.
Jonathan: I don't know. I guess, deep down, I always knew there was something magical about my family.
Jake: Trust me , there something magical about you too.

    • Jonathan: Jake! Where is he?
Fu: He's in some serious trouble John, can I call you John? We haven't really talked much before now, but I...feel like I know you.

    • Jonathan: (Driving) Okay one more question, are unicorns real?
      Fu: Sure.
      Jonathan: Fairies?
      Fu: You bet.
      Jonathan: Gnomes, Elves, Mermaids?
      Fu: Yes, yes, and yes.
      Jonathan: Santa Clause?
Fu: Just keep your eyes on the road and your foot on the pedal will yah!?

    • Jonathan: I have another question, it's just bothering me, when they turn into dragons what happens to their clothes?

    • Spud: (To Dark Dragon) Question, is the bad guy laugh really necessary? I mean come on, it's such a cliche, it a stereotype?
Trixie: Spud! Now is not the time!!

    • Jake: It's won't believe me.
Rose: I'm pretty open-minded. Give it a shot.
Jake: Okay, here it goes... the happy life that you're living now is an alternate reality that I wished for you. You're actually a mythical dragon slayer who was kidnapped by the Huntsclan, and trained since birth to fight and slay dragons. I need you to come with me tonight to Victoria Peak, to slay the Dark Dragon in order to save my grandfather and possibly the entire Magical World!
Rose: Yeah, I'm not that open-minded.

    • Jake's Mom: Would someone please tell me what's going on here?
Fu Dog: Long story, short. Gramps has been captured by the Dark Dragon who's forcing Jake to slip a mind control potion to all the worlds dragon at a secret meeting tonight!
Jake's Mom: Oh. You'd think I'd get use to this kind of thing by now.

    • Jake: We have to rescue grandpa before the eclipse tonight. It's our only chance!
Spud: Yeah, we gotta fight the Dark Dragon! And by we, I mean mostly Jake and the other dragons.

    • Fu: Yeah but here's the good news, the eclipse only lasts a couple of hours. Kinda like most of my romantic attachments!

  • NOTES (8)

    • The soundtrack of the scene in which the Dragon's Temple starts to disappear and the vortex opens to swallow it is the same one from "Batman: The Animated Series".

    • When Rose makes her comeback at the temple, she wears a new huntsgirl uniform. Instead of a Huntsclan uniform, she wears a dark-purple shirt and pants, a belt, a leather jacket, a pair of black gloves, and a pair of black boots with heels. She still braids her hair though

    • This is the only episode that doesn't take place in America whatsoever.

    • Credits: Shown were some scenes from previous times we've shared in the second season. References from "The Doppelganger Gang", "Nobody's Fu", "Something Fishy This Way Comes", "Furious Jealousy", "Haley Gone Wild", "Bite Father Bite Son", "Switcheroo", "Year of the Jake", "Being Human", "Young at Heart", "Magical Enemy #1", "A Befuddled Mind", "Hairy Christmas", "Half-Baked", and "Love Cruise" were all presented.

    • This is the first time we see Councilor Omina in her dragon form.

    • Apparently, the Huntsclan was a worldwide organization.

    • Rose regains her memory of her alternate-reality past in New York by looking at the dance picture Jake was carrying in his pocket.

    • This is the proposed series finale although it wasn't advertised as such on the Disney Channel.

    • The title of this episode, "Hong Kong Longs", is similar to the episode "Hong Kong Nights", in which the Dark Dragon also made an appearance.
