The second episode is getting closer to songs played in real time. Two great examples are the song at the end, "I Like It That Way" by the Miracles(July 1964) and "My Guy" by Mary Wells, a hit the previous spring. Still a few errors are around like "It's the Same Old Song" (Four Tops, August 1965) and "Respect" (Otis Redding, 1965). Hard to believe the audience was rocking so hard to that version when Aretha Franklin would make it a #1 favorite 3 years later - the version everybody knows!!!
Songs w/Artists (in tonight's episode) * Respect - Otis Redding - 35-11/06/65 * Iko Iko - Dixie Cups - 20-5/22/65 * It's The Same Old Song - Four Tops - 5-8/28/65 * My Guy - Mary Wells - 1-5/16/64 [Monica cover] * Something You Got - Chuck Jackson & Maxine Brown - 55-6/12/65 * Save It For Me - The 4 Seasons - 10-9/26/64 * Woman's Got Soul - Impressions - 29-5/08/65 * I Like It Like That - The Miracles - 27-8/08/64
Jack & Helen decide to let Patty skip a grade and start at East Catholic High a year early.
Aretha Franklin, who performs "R-E-S-P-E-C-T", is mentioned by Meg, but the song does not appear on the show.
