Decent synopsis of the history of the first American gold rush in California and Nevada. This documentary had a lot of interesting historical tidbits, especially concerning the racism that was shown to Hispanic miners who were eliminated from the opportunities of the Gold Rush. This did lack a discussion of the impact on the local Native American tribes which I was hoping they would touch on. Overall, the most compelling aspect of the documentary was the 3 stories of average people involved in the Gold Rush, we hear why they went, how successful they were, and how they ended up. Otherwise, this was about average for this show.
