Deron McBee, formerly Malibu, guest stars on the September 23, 1994 episode of M.A.N.T.I.S. called Soldier of Misfortune.

Erika Andersch, formerly Diamond, guest stars on the September 25, 1994 episode of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman called Wall of Sound.

Laser's only apprearance was in the Joust & Nitro's only appearance prior to the Eliminator was in Tug-O-War.

Marisa Pedulla & Jason Lewiss receive $2,500 and are eligible for the Tournament of Champions.

In the Eliminator, the only changes are to the treadmill which are now black with white stripes and the barrier at the end is now a solid blue with a white star. Similar to the 1st 3 Seasons Eliminator.

In the First Half of Season 5, the new event is Snapback as well as the Gauntlet, Tug-O-War, Whiplash, Pyramid, Powerball, Breakthrough and Conquer, Hang Tough, the Wall, the Assault, the Joust, Swingshot, Skytrack and the Eliminator.

Events not competed in this Preliminary Round were Breakthrough & Conquer, Swingshot & the Wall.

Marisa Pedulla has a 2 second head start over Felita Phillips & Jason Lewiss has a 1/2 second head start over Michael Feinburg.

Sabre is spotlighted in the Gladiator Newsflash.

At the end of Powerball, Jason Lewiss gets into Turbo's face because he thought Turbo gave him a cheap shot when the whistle blew. Turbo in turn smacks Jason in the face and then goes after him until crew members break them apart.

Powerball is the Crunch Time event in this Qualifying Round.

Snapback makes its debute appearance. In Snapback, both contenders and the Gladiators are attatched to bungee cords. The contenders have 45 seconds to attempt to grab the red & blue hanging cylinders and deposit them in their containers while the Gladiators prevent them from grabbing them. The red cylinders are worth 2 pts and the blue cylinders are worth 3 pts.

Zap, Jazz, Sky, Ice & Siren shut out the contenders in their round in the Gauntlet. This is the 1st shut out for the Lady Gladiators this season. Zap & Jazz are wearing new uniforms.

Nitro makes his first appearance in Tug-O-War since Season 4 Grand Championship. Nitro's uniform is exactly like the one he wore in Season 4 except for it is now white.

Sky shuts out the contenders in her round of Whiplash. Notice Sky is wearing a new uniform.

Laser is now sporting a goatee.

Ice shuts out the contenders in her round of the Assault.

During the Assault, there is a new Gladiator Star on the bulls eye that is about the Gladiator.

Returning this season, the events alternate between the male and female contenders as it was done in the 1st Season. There are now 9 events plus the Eliminator. The 1st round both the male and female contenders play and then alternate rounds with a different event up to the 5th round which goes back to both male and female contenders. The 6th round is the Crunch Time Event that leads into the Eliminator.

Turbo, Sabre, Zap & Jazz shut out the contenders in their rounds of the Pyramid. This is the 1st double shut out for this Season in the Pyramid.

Intoduction of the Gladiators are Turbo, Siren, Laser, Zap, Nitro, Ice, Sabre, Sky, Hawk & Jazz.
