For some reason I can't type in the edit box of my original post so I'll post my comments here. For some asinine reason, Universal decided not to use the proper order of the episodes that the makers of this fine show intended. Instead, they have printed the DVDs in the order in which they aired. This was a bad idea at the time the network did this and it's a bad idea now. This kind of pointless bumbling and interfering with the creators vision has killed more shows than I can count. When are the networks going to learn that continuity is one of the most important aspects of any story? Either way, heres the proper order:

    Disc 1 Side A Epidode 1 - "Pilot"
    Disc 1 Side A Episode 2 - "A Tree Grows in Trinity"
Disc 1 Side A Episode 3 - "Eye of the Beholder"
    Disc 1 Side B Episode 1 - "Damned if You Don't"
    Disc 3 Side A Episode 4 - "Potato Boy"
Disc 1 Side B Episode 2 - "Dead to the World"
Disc 1 Side B Episode 3 - "Meet the Beetles"
Disc 1 Side B Episode 4 - "Strong Arm of the Law"
Disc 2 Side B Episode 3 - "To Hell and Back"
Disc 2 Side B Episode 2 - "The Beast Within"
    Disc 2 Side A Episode 1 - "Rebirth"
Disc 3 Side B Episode 1 - "Ring of Fire"
    Disc 2 Side A Episode 2 - "Resurrector"
    Disc 2 Side A Episode 3 - "Inhumanitas"
Disc 2 Side A Episode 4 - "The Plague Sower"
    Disc 2 Side B Episode 1 - "Doctor Death Takes a Holiday"
Disc 2 Side B Episode 4 - "Learning to Crawl"
Disc 3 Side B Episode 2 - "Echo of Your Last Goodbye"
    Disc 3 Side B Episode 3 - "Strangler"
    Disc 3 Side A Episode 1 - "Triangle"
Disc 3 Side A Episode 2 - "The Buck Stops Here"
    Disc 3 Side A Episode 3 - "Requiem"

Do yourself a favor and watch them in this order.

Yeah, they are definitely out of order on the set.

I dug up this list and watched them in this order, but I can't help feeling some of the last ones were not quite right still. Just in terms of the timeline with Buck and Caleb's cousin Gail. Namely the "Strangler" episode I feel should have been earlier in the sequence, before The Plague Sower, maybe. The Strangler didn't seem to fit in to being in the middle of the Gail/Buck relationship.

Wish I would have known this earlier. First Dr. Matt Crower is off to jail for life, and then he's back like nothing's happened. I'm watching via NETFLIX (one DVD at a time, unlimited per month), and this out of order problem makes it hard to watch the series this way. BTW, the NETFLIX rentals I've been getting are all single-sided.

Does anyone remember the original series on TV? I just finished watching the DVD collection and there were definitely scenes that were missing. Didn't Selena and Dr. Peale leave town together? Also, I remember a scene in front of the church where Merlyn was in a fire ring and she was confronting Caleb when he was being evil. Anyone remember these scenes or did I dream them?

Thank you, Solamon, very much for taking the time to break down the proper order of the episodes on the disks. I loved this show and was so mad at the sabatoge by the "powers-that-be". I'll never understand it. It would be super if a network person would actually try to explain this to the devoted fans. This had, imho, enough substance to be a great show.
