I am thrilled that season 1 is wrapped up in a neat little package and season 2 is all new. I don't care if they bring back the same actors or not, I am so happy that they went in the direction that they did. Some other shows would benefit from this fresh take on writing. In fact, most "high school" shows would. I look forward to seeing the new season 2... my thought was that it would be taking place in Virginia... I can't wait to see.
"The season we're planning now is very different from the California house approach. There is a clue in the last three episodes where we resay what the next season will be about."- Ryan Murphy from the above link.
Here's another link for another article for another Ryan Murphy "soundbite":
He basically says in it that he gave us a clue in the Birth episode (which in my opinion should've been the season finale) where Season 2 will be located (not that it matters since we NEVER saw Boston nor L.A. in the first season). Here are the locations I have picked out:
Florida (from Vivien's sister's location)
Virginia (from Constance's native home)
North Carolina (Constance's family's location, also "Roanoke" mentioned off the NC coast)
Vermont (where the Newhart show is located on the TV)
Again, I would rather see a cast list rather than the location.
when is 2nd season returning?
I would say Fall 2012, same as One. They'll probably begin shooting in February, post-production over the summer for a fall season, just in time for Halloween again.
|Never heard of this actress playing her nemesis.|
French actress... and that's all I know.
Also tv.com and spoilertv.com have an update about season 2: The setting will be in an East Coast asylum for the criminally insane run by Jessica Lange. Also it'll be set in a different era, so probably some point in the past where modern medicine is less of a factor. Also it'll be in a completely different universe than season 1... so no continuation of the anti-christ character.
|I really love the idea of this show being an anthology series, but per-season rather than per-episode. It's a very cool idea and on reflection makes me enjoy the season 1 finale more. I just "get" it now, the whole show. If they'd made that clear from the outset I would have been even more excited! Actually maybe this was general knowledge during season 1 and I just missed it, haha.|
If it was general knowledge, I also missed it. Though I do agree, I remember watching the first season thinking there' no way this is sustainable as anything more than a mini-series. It wasn't until hearing that the second season would have nothing to do with the first made me appreciate the finale and overall story of season 1.
Fiennes joins the cast... no, not the good one. Joseph Fiennes is either innegotiationsto join or already has joined depending on what you read. Apparently he'll be Jessica Lange's boss and possible romantic interest. Well the cast does seem to be rounding out.
