  • A Cock and Bull Story...

    6.5
The ick-factor in this episode will test your limits, and while certain plot elements worked, I found this to be the most distorted episode so far. That's not to say that this was a bad episode, I just found the peculiar storytelling style of cutting away within the same scene to an earlier time (or else completely imagined sacrifice ritual) very distracting. The first two hours of AHS have been jam packed with incident, character development, madness and all kinds of voodoo, but still managed to maintain some semblance of flow. With this witching hour, the separate plot strands don't hold on their own, making the pacing a little all over the place.

In fairness, I don't think any episode of AHS, or any show for that matter, has made me gasp WTF so many times in one sitting. So good job! We were spoilt for choice this week when it came to eye-gouging content. I mean, who doesn't love a good goat sacrifice? It would have been weird had Ms. Foxx NOT touched herself as henchmen doused her lady parts in blood, amiright?. And what about Queenie, eh? Can we all just cut the wicca some slack? Everyone gets a little horny every now and then. She, ehm, just took her chocolate cravings to a very literal HORNy level, same species be damned! (To Queenie's credit, as Minitors go, he was definitely a buddah's

And what about Kyle? There wasn't a scene this week where he wasn't being manhandled by women folk in some form or another, including his mother! ICK. The scenes involving molestation were foul for obvious reasons (see: incest). But to add another twisted layer to an already twisted situation, it was also technically necrophilia. And to dig a little deep, or go a little lower as Mrs. Spencer had no qualms in doing (too far?), she basically abused several dead guys at once, since that aint Kyle's body. THIS SHOW HAS ME TYPING THE CRAZIEST OF SENTENCES.

Naturally, given the talent on this show, there are a number of great, individual scenes for different characters. Angela Basset's Marie Laveau (so so baddass!) has officially confirmed the beginning of Witch Wars I; Madame LaRacist's fish out of water comments on Obama were priceless; and Nan's flirtation, with a little help from her magic ability, offered up some very amusing moments. And then you have Madison's night on the town with Fiona culminating in a genuinely shocking finale and possibly one of the best one-liners. Ever. 'This house doesn't need a new Supremeit needs a new

I really enjoyed bits and pieces of this episode; it just never really clicked for me as a whole. Between the Minotaur fapping, the mamma bashing and the new, shirtless bible thumpers on the block, it could have done with cutting out some of the bull.

  • Going "Boston Legal"

    2.0
I'm disappointed with this season so far. Don't the writers know the election is over and their guy won? Why do we have to get the blatant pro-Obama politicking that seemed totally out of place with the rest of the episode? Overall, they seem to be doing their best to keep stirring up racial hatreds like all of the slave movies from Hollywood in recent years. It's about as subtle as a sledge hammer and getting tiresome. And what will we get next - Fiona telling us the wonders of Obamacare? Ugh!moreless
  • There's A Heartbeat And It Never Really Died.

    10
So now I know why Spalding doesn't have a tongue anymore because Fiona cut it out, but then why would she do the same to Madison and I don't believe that Madison is really dead, I think she will come back. Poor Kyle now I know he had a horrible childhood being molested by his own mother and I have no idea if Cordelia is pregnant after watching Marie Laveau doing the Hoodoo Voodoo. Misty Day is just being Misty Day and what a song to play because it had to do with Kyle. "Sara". Fantastic Episode. Fantastic Show. Thumbs Up.moreless
