    • TRIVIA (3)

      • It wasn't for Ford but the contestants did film a music video. The song was "Splish Splash" by Bobby Darin. All the contestants were in towels and getting ready for a dance. At the end they are all dressed up and having fun then Jon Peter Lewis walks out still in his towel.

      • Quentin Tarantino was the guest judge in this episode. He is the first person to guest judge who is neither a singer or a writer. But because he is a huge fan of the show and is a director they got him to do it since it was movie week.

      • Tarantino reportedly said "Power Effin' House" but was ordered by Fox to redo his comments, not airing it live made it possible.

    • QUOTES (0)

    • NOTES (4)

      • Neil Sedaka was in the audience. He was a guest judge in season 2.

      • Each contestant sang a song either written for, or used in a movie. The songs sung tonight were:
George Huff-"Against All Odds (Take a Look At Me Now)" by Phil Collins (Against All Odds)
Jennifer Hudson-"I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston (The Bodyguard)
Jon Peter Lewis-"Jailhouse Rock" by Elvis Presley (Jailhouse Rock)
Diana DeGarmo-"My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion (Titanic)
Fantasia Barrino-"Summertime" by Abbie Mitchell (Porgy and Bess)
Jasmine Trias-"When I Fall In Love" by Doris Day (Sleepless in Seattle)
John Stevens-"As Time Goes By" by Dooley Wilson (Casablanca)
La Toya London-"Somewhere" by Reri Grist (West Side Story)

      • After Fantasia's performance of "Summertime," Randy gave her a standing ovation and also said it was the best performance of all time on American Idol.

      • This episode was originally set to air Tuesday April 13th 2003 but aired with a tape delay the next day on Wednesday April 14th 2004. This is because on Tuesday there was a presidential address. This is the first time that the show has been pushed back for some reason and also the first time a (strictly) performance episode aired on a Wednesday. The only other episode in which people performed on a Wednesday was the Wild Card episode in season 1, which also was a results show all in one!
