    • This year it was known ahead of time how many contestants would sing for Wild Card and how many would be chosen (the who was not however), whereas last year the judges decided the night of.

    • This is the fourth season where there is an uneven amount of boys and girls. This is the second time that there are more boys than girls (Season 8 was there other), as there are 7 Boys and 6 Girls.

    • During Jeremy's performance the one of the camera operators bumped into something which shook the camera.

    • There were 33 million votes over the two nights.

    • This is the most amount of contestants eliminated in one episode during the Semis, with 12, beating out last year, which had 11.

    • Ryan started off by revealing the Top 10 which were: Phillip Phillips, Hollie Cavanagh, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, Heejun Han, Shannon Magrane, Skylar Laine, Elise Testone, Colton Dixon and Jermaine Jones. Next the Judges revealed who would sing as a Wild Card and those were: Jen Hirsh, Jeremy Rosado, Brielle Von Hugel, DeAndre Brackensick, Erika Van Pelt and Reed Grimm. Then the judges revealed that Erika Van Pelt, Jeremy Rosado and DeAndre Brackensick were through making this the third time there was a Top 13 (Season 8 and 10 were the other two). The rest were eliminated and those are: Aaron Marcellus, Adam Brock, Baylie Brown, Brielle Von Hugel, Chase Likens, Chelsea Sorrell, Creighton Fraker, Eben Franckewitz, Haley Johnsen, Hallie Day and Reed Grimm.
