  • Notes

    • This was the last episode for Judges Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. Randy left to pursue other ventures, while Mariah and Nicki stated they wanted to focus on their careers. However, there was much back and forth about how Mariah felt extremely uncomfortable throughout the season, and most likely the main reason neither returned was due to the fighting. Jimmy Iovine also left as the In House Mentor, and Ray Chew left as band director. This is very similar to Season 9 when 3 of the 4 Judges left at the end creating a huge change in the show.

    • Candice becomes the fifth female Winner, and Kree is the sixth female Runner Up. Candice is the first female Winner since Season 6, and is also the first winner ever to have tried out in previous seasons.

    • Due to this being Randy Jackson's last season as judge, a special video was put together for him to send him off.

    • Due to this being Randy Jackson's last season as judge, a special video was put together for him to send him off.

    • There was a special video shown of why the Boys all got eliminated back-to-back, revealing that the girls plotted it and the mastermind was no other than Season 6 Winner Jordin Sparks, who was the last female Winner. In this video Candice said it was "easy" to do since none of the guys played guitar. This was eluding to the WGWG (White Guys With Guitar) controversy which had five years in a row of a white male who performed mostly with their guitar on stage, winding up winning, from Season 7 (David Cook) until Season 11 (Phillip Phillips).
