  • Jordin Sparks, a fabulous singer, did not do a good job as a performer, and Blake Lewis, a fabulous performer, didn't do a good job as a singer.

I love American Idol, but I think the seasons have gone down hill since Season 4 with Carrie Underwood. Carrie Underwood is just a classic, and will be for ages. American Idol really jumped the shark when america sent Chris Daughtry home in season 5. I definily think that Blake Lewis should have won this season's American Idol. Although, runner ups and contestants that don't even make it to the top 2 tend to do a better job in the singing industry. Clay Aiken, Diana DeGarmo, and Katherine McPhee, Kellie Pickler, Chris Daughtry, and others have done way better than some of the "winners". Examples: Ruben Studdered, Fantasia Burrino, and Taylor Hicks.moreless

Ok, let's do this round by round:

    ROUND 1: Jovi vs. Aguilera

Blake did "You give love a bad name", and i can't find the words to describe it... it was better than the first time, a real 10 out of 10 for me

Jordin went with "Fighter" which is a really good song, and she pulled it off, but it wasn't a great performance.. it didn't actually showed her voice... probably a 7

RESULT: i'll go with simon, ROUND 1: Blake

    ROUND 2: Maroon vs. McBride

Blake and "She will be loved"... it was.. not good... he sounds like maroon 5, but the falseto wasn't really on key.. it wasn't good, but it wasn't bad: 6

Jordin with "Broken wing", and she sounded also not that good, it was really "been there, done that"... it was flat as a glass... she totally showed here range, but it didn't have the YO factor, judging the singing only: an 8

RESULT: i'll go with my ears, ROUND 2: Jordin

ROUND 3: His Now vs. Her Now

Blake was like a fish out of the water, i never felt so bad for anyone before.. he looked so stressed... the song was just NOT for him... he did what he could, but it was not good: also a 6

Jordin was perfect for the song, or maybe the song was pefect for her... i don't know, i just saw her perform and quoting Simon she wiped the floor with Blake after that performance: a 9

RESULT: i'll go with the unfair choice of song, ROUND 3: Jordin

    OVERALL: Jordin 2 - 1 Blake

Let's just wait for the finale tomorrow, and i'll be happy with whoever wins, because i love them both... and i'm gonna buy both of their cd's.moreless
  • They are both American Idols to me.

Okay, I mostly want to say that I don't think the judges were fair to Blake on the last number. No, he didn't sing it as well as Jordin, because it's not his style of song, they were right about that. But he sang it with so much more passion and meaning then Jordin did. Like they were saying all night long, like I've been saying since the start, Blake is a far better performer the Jordin. Being a better performer is much more then having energy and dancing and being sexy when the time calls for it. It mostly about acting. It's about knowing what the words mean and emoting those feelings when you sing. Jordin sang pretty, but the meaning of the words didn't hit her until the end, when she began to cry. Blake knew from beginning to end what the song was about and put that out there from beginning to end. Solid performance Blake.moreless
  • Nothing much happened.

Well i'm glad they sung most of my favorite songs. But after a while it just got boring i don't know why it just did. They both did a good job singing but jordin did better and she deserves to win since this is a singing contest not an beep boxing competion. I mean blake is cool and all but not as talent as jordin. Any one can see that. I have a feeling though blake is gonna win but i hope its jordin she was one of my favorites in the beginning and still is, rock on jordin sparks.moreless
  • Boring episode. Why didn't they do the same catagories at the same time?

    "Mediocre"
This episode was exactly what I expected after sending the best home the previous 3 weeks. Jordin is good for what she can do, but unlike Randy I think because of her age she lacks the depth of range and emotion that comes with maturity. Choosing that Christina song was a mistake. It was dreadful. And for Randy to say that "Broken Wing" was better than the original was a major slap in the face to Martina McBride. It wasn't even as good as the first time she preformed it several episodes ago. The last song was her best, but by then I was loosing interest in the show.

Blake was Blake. He has been the best entertainer of the season, not the best singer. What he does is black or white, you either love it or hate it. I like him enough but feel like he is doomed. If Jordin can get by Lakesha and Melinda, he should be an easier hurdle. I was dissappointed when he won the coin toss and then asked Jordin if she wanted to go first. This is a competition. As Randy says, "are you in it to win it?" When he won the toss but went first because Jordin didn't want to, that will send the wrong message to people and that message is I don't want to win. Dumb move.moreless
