American Idol

There seemed to be no particular theme or reasoning behind the performances. Last season both Kelly and Justin sang the same two original songs that would be on their single album, whereas here only Clay sang an original song. There was no mention if it would be the single had he won, nor what Ruben's single would be since all his songs were covers. The only round that had some sort of theme was round 2 when they both sang songs written by one of the Beatles. This is the first time that there is no theme or order to the performances in the Live part of the competition.

Clips of the top 3 Ford music videos were shown and Ryan asked for America to vote which one they wanted to see the next night. There choices were: "Fun, Fun, Fun" from Top 6 week "Ride wit Me" from Top 4 week and "She's A Lady" from the Top 3 week

Ryan mentioned that there would be 3 hours of voting instead of the regular two hours.
