The seventh season continues as more contestants audition from Dallas, TX.
  • Liked the "Dallas Show" and appreciated the courtesy of most of the contestants who were a credit to the South. I particularly like the farmer from Mississippi.

As a native Texan I was proud of most of the contestants who tried out for AI in Dallas, TX. There were many talented people, and most were very polite even when rejected. I think there really must be someting to this "Southern hospitality" thing.

I particularly liked the "farmer" from Mississippi. I'm not really into country music, but he was so good looking and clean cut, with such a strong worth ethic, I was completely captivated. I was also slightly embarrassed by some of the "talent". I continue to be amazed at the nerve of some people who clearly know they have no talent yet still want to be seen on TV. Some even seem to be in need of psychiatric help. But, I also know that the "nutty" rejects are part of AI's popularity.

Over all, I liked the Dallas show, and LOVE AI!moreless
  • First time back since season 1 in Dallas!

    8.7
    "Great"
This is the first time that American Idol has been back to Dallas since the original season in 2002. And that the winner was a then-unknown contestant by the name of Kelly Clarkson, the original Idol winner. Again some contestants were funny and warm. And some were good. Some I wished that would had made it. Like the one that says that he never has kissed a girl before. I agree with one viewer that Simon didn't make fun of the guy. Plus, it does prove that he can have a soul. Great show and where they will turn out next as well as who will they expect to get? We don't know!moreless

  • Good episode of American Idol

    9.4
    "Superb"
The auditions continue is Dallas, Texas. There were some hilarious auditions, and there were some good ones. One of the really good ones was Drew....don't know his last name. He was good. I actually thought that guy who had never kissed a girl was pretty good. I wish he would have made it through to Hollywood. He was cute and sweet. The little Asian guy at the end that loved Simon was so funny! I've been singing his song for days now! It's very catchy. And I'm with Simon it probably will be a hit. I know I'd put it on my ipod! Probably make it my ringtone! Lol. Anyways, it was funny seeing the judges dancing and goofing off and just having a good time. Memorable episode.moreless
  • good episode...

American Idol goes back to Texas to look for talent. They hadn't been to Texas since season 1 where they found Kelly Clarkson. The auditions are always funny, and this one was no different. There were a lot of odd people and some good people that look like they'll do relatively well. No one really popped up to me. I thought the funniest moment was when the ball-park cleaner guy came in and sang terribly, but the judges were nice to him because he was so happy. Simon didn't make fun of him at all. It was funny, and it showed that he can be nice. Anyways, this was an average audition episode.moreless

    • Simon (to contestant Beth Maddocks): What was that? Randy: It's called 'Beautiful Disaster.' Simon: Okay, well we'll stay with the last word on that.

    • Simon: (after Ranaldo sings the "Brothers Forever" song a bunch of times) So Ranaldo, what was that song called again? Ranaldo: "We Are Brothers Forever"!

    • Ryan: Next week, it's fun in the sun, as Idol heads west to San Diego, California.

    • Simon: They say "love is deaf," right? Randy: No, they say "love is blind," Simon, that's what they say.

    • Bruce: Do you guys have any advice? Randy: Kiss some girls. Simon: Avoid Ryan on the way out.

    • Beth: They actually said my song was a disaster, not a beautiful disaster... Ryan: (voiceover) But "disaster" was a kind word to describe the next hour of auditions.

    • Beth: I'm searching for some kind of miracle / I've waited so long. Simon: I have no idea what that was. Beth: Okay. Simon: I couldn't understand a word of that.

    • Paul: Simon didn't come down on me, like I thought he would. S-So that's always good 'cause he goes down on just about everybody. Simon: (in the audition room, mocking Paul) Dahlin' I will wait for you. Ryan: (voiceover) No hard feelings, Paul. When we return, we're deep in the heart of Texas. Bruce: I've never kissed a girl before. Randy: What!? Ryan: As Dallas reveals its biggest... Brandon: (terribly offkey) Always shine... Simon: I don't want to hear anymore of this stupidity. Ryan: And its brightest stars.

    • Paul: (singing offkey) I'll wait for you / I'll be waiting. (sighs deeply) Paula: (sighs deeply) Randy: I like the (sighs deeply).
