Episode Summary

In the humorous debut of the hit reality show series, three judges - Randy, Paula and Simon - began the search for the next American Idol. They went to several cities throughout the country, in each one picking 30 people to move on to the next round. They were faced with some who were great performers, and some who were the most talentless people they've ever seen. In the end, they successfully found over 100 people for the next round.moreless

A humorous debut for this hit reality show series. It showed three judges, which were Randy, Paula and Simon, getting starting to search for the next American Idol. They went to different cities, in each one picking 30 to move on to the next round. Faced with some that were great performers, or the most talentless people you've ever seen. In the end though, successfully they found over a 100 people for the next round. star:Paula Abdul (Judge), Brian Dunkleman (Host (Season 1)), Ryan Seacrest (Host), Simon Cowell (Judge), Tamyra Gray (Fourth Place (Season 1)), Justin Guarini (Runner-Up (Season 1)), Kelly Clarkson (Winner (Season 1)), Nikki McKibbin (Third Place (Season 1)), R. This show is the perfect place to go to/ watch. This show will make you so hard... espisiolly the "bad" singers.A fun show with many wonderful aspects and show thats just perfect for your laugh. The first episodes are about who gets chosen and who doesnt. Mostly, people who dont get chosen... FUNNY! seriously one word for it... funny. The things that are funny are the singing and also Simon Cowell's comments. Many of these people that want to have their dream realised have to be judged by none other than Simon. His comment are the funniest. But thats not all, the host is Ryan. He is awesome wiht how he tries to comforts the ones that make it and the one that dont. KEEP DOING A GOOD JOB RYAN!moreless

This series has had its ups and downs and I think, now that it has become part of American culture it has a greater obligation to maintain a higher level of entertainment.

This episode to me has given the show renewal and seems to be starting on the right foot. The thing that sets this season apart is that they are finding humor in the natural part of this process and not relying on Simon's comments to put the show together.

If you have been on the fence with this series and are hoping things might get better... then you might want to give this season a try. I think it will be a big year for American Idol.
