American Idol

Fantasia sings a tune from her new album coming out this summer. Ryan asks about her daughter, who was two when Fantasia competed on Idol, and Fantasia says she is nine now!

Ryan asks for the lights to be dimmed. He reiterates to Mike Lynche and Casey James the judges remarks about their duet, before turning to Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze and doing the same. Ryan then intones, "Casey, after the nationwide vote, you are safe, and in the Top Three!" Casey rushes to receive his family's congratulations.

Chris Daughtry and his band are introduced next, and Ryan says they have sold millions of albums around the world! After his performance, Ellen and Randy remark on how Chris is living the dream the current contestants want to have. Daughtry advises the hopefuls to stay hungry and be true to themselves.

Ryan brings down the lights again and reads the judges remarks on the solos back to Mike, Lee, and Crystal. Ryan tells them that after the nationwide vote - Lee is headed back to his hometown of Chicago to thank his supporters because he's in the Top Three! He's safe!

The crowd goes wild as Bon Jovi takes the stage to perform Superman Tonight!

Before delivering the final results, Ryan checks in with Lee and Casey. Casey says he was prepared to sing and go home when Ryan said his name earlier! Ryan turns back to the remaining two contestants and says that the one in the Top Three is Crystal! Big Mike is at the end of the road. As his wife cries, Mike takes the news in stride. Kara advises Mike not to stop and to keep singing his heart out. He sings for the last time and receives a standing ovation.
