I Loved This Episode, It Was Exciting With A Capital "E" ! ;p .. WOW ! .. I Don’t Know How These People Do It! Go On Stage And Sing Their Hearts Out And Then Get The "Yes" Or The "No". Boy Oh Boy! I Felt So Sorry For Bailey Brown, Her Voice Is Soo Amazing! It’s a Shame That She Got Cut Out! I Loved The Chris (Jack Osbourne Look Alike) Group! It Was Incredible! All Their Voices Sounded Amazing! I Also Liked The Dude With The Afro (The One That Used To Sing Background For Christina Aguilera), His Voice Is A Winner! Seriously, If He Makes An Album, Id Be The First One To Get It! I Also Felt Sorry For The Guy Who Always Calls His Mom After An Audition! He Got Cut Because He Forgot His Words, Why Oh Why Did He Have To Forget Them! He Was Doing So Good ;\ .. OH Well, In The End This IS AMERICAN IDOL, And Somebody Always Has To Go Home!

Itw as a verys ad episode. Seeing dreams get cut here and there, but it has to be done right? I felt really bad for the indian twins. The girl actually deserved it. I just think Idol doesn't like family being on the top 24 together. So many great talents got cut and it was very crucial. Now I remember why they made such a big deal about this Hollywood Round. At the end of the episode there was only 40 contestants left. Only 24 will be making it to the next round. 12 guys and 12 girls. It will be hard to choose.

Well, the Hollywood episodes of American Idol are usually good, because this is when the gloves come off, the claws come out and people start stabbing each other in the back.

However, this episode, while it had some of that, didn't really have a lot of it. But I want to see people breaking down, trying to learn a song from 30 or 40 years before they were born, messing up the lyrics, hating on each other! That's what makes the Hollywood episodes good! 'Cause after they get down to the top 12 or 24 or whatever it is, it's all a sugar sweet love-fest.

We had a little bit of drama, with the one girl-group, where the one girl went and flirted with the guys instead of practising the song. But not much came of that. And we just didn't seem to see a lot of the mess-ups on stage... I guess they're trying to get to the "good" singers quickly.

Well, we'll see what tonight brings, with the last day of Hollywood singing.
  • Why the cramming of the Hollywood auditions?

I don't get why "American Idol" changed up its format this year and crammed all of the Hollywood performances into one episode. Every other year, there were at least four Hollywood shows.

The show felt rushed (because it was) and you got to know absolutely no one in more depth. The producers chose to focus on just a few stories, namely, the story of Baylie Brown, who got cut because she forgot her words, and the group fighting of the girls that contained the girl who looked like Shakira. The standout performers of the night were the four guys that sang together--the group with the curly-haired guy and the beat-boxer guy and the guy that wore the fedora. Overall, an average show.
  • Cramming 3 days into 1

What happens when you mix 3 day's (girl's auditions, guy's auditions and the group auditions) all into a 1 hour episode? Boring, average and little humor. Don't get me wrong, what they showed was pretty good, but they could have split it up into 2 day's or at least a 2 hour block. I feel that they jammed so much into an hour that we missed a lot. There wasn't a lot of goof's, which make up the show. We missed way over half of the people actually preforming and only saw what the producers thought was good, bad and should be seen. Also there was more focus on the producers favorites the the rest of the people. Average, hopefully they'll do better.

  • Hollywood week finally arrives!

Having got bored of the audition stage about 3 weeks ago, I have long anticipated Hollywood week and it did not disappoint. This is the week when the stress on the contestants really starts to mount and does not drop.

The first big evidence of this stress was the fact that the first six girls to perform were all sent home by the judges and I agree, none of them really stood out, but undoubtably this gave all the other contestants a sharp shock!

I was upset when the guy from the Navy got sent home because I really enjoyed him and also disappointed when Baylie Brown chose a horrible group that just messed around and got sent home. (Try again next year, Baylie, I'll support you).

One of the classic moments was when four of the boys sang together in a group. That was beautiful and made me realise why boy bands generally work while girl bands do not!

Many people will say that the good singers got sent home, but I think that as an audience, we dont really have the right to decide. We do not see enough of the performances to make an informed choice so we really have to trust the judges to do it right and I do to be honest. I'm sure they know what they are looking for better than we do anyway.

Cant wait until the final 24 are announced!!!!!
  • Once again, the good ones don't make it!

If season 5 was even worse, then you can imagine what season 6 is going to be! The good talented people where disqualified. The guy from the Navy was booted out and the guy who looks like Jack Osbourne made it to the next round. What a waist of talent you say! I was wondering if Rudy Cardenas made it thru, since the Shakira look alike was also booted out. I was also wondering about the contestant from Central Florida, but I have not seen her, so I wonder if she also was disqualified. Thank goodness the guy that pretended to be Fidel Castro is out of the race! I would have changed channels once and for all!

This is generally why I tend to stop watching American Idol after the audition rounds. I will watch this show for the lack of anything better to watch, but this is seriosuly an exmaple of a bad episode of this show. The first 30 minutes there wasn't really anything to write home about. We got little tiny clips of everyone singing and then instead of the judges letting everyone know one by one how they did, they simply cut half of them and let half of them move on. What makes this show great is hearing the judges voice out what they think about everyone and they werent doing that in the first half hour which makes the show focused 100% on how the people sound. And when your like me and arent a big music person to begin with, it just becomes random people singing random songs. I like the judges harshness in the auditions, but episodes like this just dont do it for me.
