  • great idea...but not as good as last year...

    "Great"
I was hoping for so much more because last year's episode was so good...but this year was just ok. I'm not a big fan of Miley so...I had no idea who most of the other people were...I thought it was weird that they got wrestlers to say stuff. At least Kiefer was on there! I thought Terry Hatcher singing "Before He Cheats" was really weird, but I was surprised how well she sang it. I was laughing when I saw Chase from House playing the electric violin. Of course, the whole point of the episode is to give, which is awesome. I started tearing up when I watched Chris Daughtry sing his song "What About Now"; that was amazing. Overall, not as good as last year, but I hope to see many more Idol Gives Back!moreless
  • This episode of American Idol was a charity special to raise money for people who really need it.

    "Great"
I thought this was a really special episode. I saw it last year and I thought it was good, so I was looking forward to watching it again this year. I liked the opening number, I thought it was cool. Some of my other favorite performances were Fergie, I really like her song "Finally". I thought Carrie Underwood this a great job performing. When Terri Hatcher came out to sing Carrie's "Before He Cheats" I was a little nervous, but I thought she sang it good. I really liked the group numbers that the Idols sang, especially "Seasons of Love". I thought it really fit the tone of the night. Robin Williams was really funny, I could not stop laughing. Jimmy Kimmel also did a good job talking about Simon, the things he said were funny. The videos they showed of the children were so sad. I think what American Idol is doing by raising money can really make a huge difference in the future.moreless
  • Not one of my favorites, but the cause is good.

    3.7
    "Bad"
This was a mediocre episode of American Idol. But it did have its good points; they were trying to raise money to help those less fortunate, complete with clips of notable names visiting places with children less fortunate than those we know ourselves. But that's where the good points end. The performances were subpar (though Miley Cyrus was hot), and the whole thing was boring, kinda "pageanty" to me, as a certain Simon would say.

But the effort and the thought were there; the previous year's "Idol Gives Back" was a great episode, but I would be very surprised to see them do it again next year, because this year's show was, as that same Simon would say, "old-fashioned".

That's only my opinion. Your opinion may vary.moreless
