    Elliott is amazing! It should definitely have been him & Taylor in the final show!! Katherine is too full of herself...My 2 favorites from the final 12 have been Elliott & Taylor (too bad Gideon wasn\'t in there too!) He was awesome...I believe in natural talent & w/Katherine\'s mother being a voice coach, I wonder how much natural talent she has & how much was just learned.

    I know all of us Elliott fans are now going to be voting for Taylor! He has natural talent & you can tell he loves what he does! Go TAYLOR! Too bad everytime I\'ve called tonite, the phone line is busy! Let\'s hope everyone else got thru for Taylor!!

    Living in England this episode has only just aired on TV here so I'm a bit late in leaving my comments.
    I'm so disappointed with the result tonight. I can appreciate that the votes were incredibly close but it pains me that America can vote someone like Taylor Hicks into the final when you have talent like Elliott. I don't want to take anything away from Taylor. No one has made me laugh more throughout this season...he has been a joy to watch and his passion for music has been unmatched by any of the other contestants.
    However, Elliott Yamin has (easily) the best voice I have ever heard come from American Idol. All of the British equivalent shows have not produced anyone close to his talent. In my opinion his version of 'If You Really Love Me' was even better than Stevie Wonder's version. I have no problem in likening him to a white Stevie Wonder. The ease in which he carries his voice is incredible....it's effortless! The very fact that he can stand up there with hardly any prior warming up of his vocals and sing the way he does - not forgetting that he is almost completely deaf in one ear - astounds me. This guy is outstanding!
    When you get to this stage you're not voting on who can sing, that's a given! You're voting on what they can do with the instrument they've been blessed with; how they control it to give the song the style & rhythm it needs. Elliott Yamin (without a doubt!!!) controls and uses his vocals better with every song he performs. It's never over the top (as I found Katherine's 'Somewhere over the Rainbow' to be this evening listen to Eva Cassidy's version to know how that tune should be sung). You can end up completely fragmenting a song in order to show off your vocal range and I've heard many of the contestants doing this. It sounds impressive and gets everyone cheering in the audience, but, as a song, it sounds awful, patchy and desperate. I cant remember the contestant from last year's American Idol but he used to sound awful throughout the whole song but would end on this MASSIVE note and everyone would cheer and say how he saved the song at the end and he'd survive another round!

    I won't deny that Katherine has an awesome, awesome voice. I have not heard one off note throughout the whole season from her. If Simon got his way, he'd want her winning - that's obvious! I just would have liked to see someone other than a beautiful girl winning for once we have enough of those out there!

    Watching tonight's show really made me appreciate how great they all are, in their own right, and how I would love to see them all sign record contracts. However, I'm just disappointed that America didn't see the amazing, unique, natural talent they have in Elliott and vote him American Pop Idol winner 2006!

    I hope he proves to be the great singer he is. I hope he becomes a legend! There is no reason why he shouldn't. Vocally I can't think of many singers better than him right now. I eagerly await his Albumuntil then its 'If you really love me' on repeat!

    P.S. I only voted this a 9 because Elliott sung!

  • Elliot should have gone home a long time ago...I really hope Katharine wins. She deserves to win more than Taylor. I'll tell you why.

    I know people will find me weird, as my parent's did. My parent's both like Taylor because he's funny to watch. My mom liked the part when Taylor said (referring to Simon) "...and he smiles too!!!" yeah well I didn't find it funny at all. Personally I prefer Chris over Taylor, too bad he is gone though. Elliot should have went home BEFORE Kelly!!! Seriously...I find it so weird that America would keep him this long. This episode was no surprise, Elliot going home. Before I saw how close the votes were, I was sure Taylor would win. Now, I think Katharine has a chance. I started to like Katharine after Kelly left, it was then that I noticed her great vocals, but she overdoes it, anyway she has great potential and I really hope she wins. Now let's see who the "Elliot" fans will vote for. It may be Katharine or Taylor. Now the moment you've all been waiting for why I hate Taylor. In the begining I like Taylor Hicks, but then I saw what he was trying to do. He is trying to play stupid, and funny. I tell you if he hadn't acted like he had he would've gone home LONG AGO!! I don't see as good a voice as Chris anyway. He would be the best male singer by far!! Katharine obviously being MY American Idol. Taylor is trying to buy our votes I tell you!!! In a way that will get people to vote for him because they enjoy watching what he will do next! You may think I am crazy, but I tell you this is what he is trying to do!! It's my opinion anyway. Feel free to diagree, or agree, it's just my opinion of what Taylor is trying to do.moreless

    Okay, I have to admit, I didn't watch the whole thing. I was watching TAR instead, and just flipped over to FOX for American Idol during the commercials. I saw a bit of Taylor singing some Doobie Brothers song, and quickly changed the channel.

    I also saw the FORD commercial with the three Idols as old, fat people, doing some rap thing... is FORD trying to sell cars or not? Because there's no way I'd buy a car based on that piece of horrible trash!

    As for the results, yes, I flipped back to FOX and watched the final five minutes... and even that was too much! I got to see the record producer talking too much. Then for the approximately two minutes of the show that I wanted to see. The results.

    I can't believe how close it was. Only 0.2% difference between spot #3 and #2; and only 0.4% between #2 and #1. However, it wasn't much of a surprise to see Elliott leave; he's a good singer, and I enjoy him, but he just doesn't have the personality that Taylor does. Given that Chris isn't there any more, I guess it's down to that... personality, cause the GOOD singer is gone!

    Next week: will America go for cute or geeky? Only time will tell!moreless

    I can't believe that Elliott has lasted this long and
    Thought that he would be gone a long time ago
    Chris despite not taking the title can breathe a little relief in knowing that Elliott is out of the title run
    Wished though that Christ would had won like we all do
    But you know how things happen when we want our favorites to win and they don't!
