  • Well I expected them to be in the bottom three.

    7.3
I was really shocked when Kristy Lee Cook wasn't sent home. That country whatever-the-heck she did on "8 Days a Week" was horrible. I never liked David H, but he wasn't the worst by far. I was also surprised not to see Rameile in the bottom 3. Her rendition of "In My Life" was so talent show. Throughout the whole song, my husband wouldn't shut up about how it sounded like she was in a seventh grade talent show. Jim Carrey is really funny and I'm glad he threw some life into the show. I really don't like results shows because they drag on and on and on....Why did they make everyone sing their last songs? We heard the terribleness yesterday!

Finally the last 2 minutes, David goes. Hurrah! Another week of Kristy, BOO!moreless
  • David Hernandez got his due

I can't say that I was completely happy with the top 12 contestants on American Idol this season. I do think that they fall in to two distinct groups - the ones with talent and presence and the ones who still think cheesy karaoke singing is good enough to send them to the top. David H., Ramiele, and Syesha fall in to the latter category. While I thought that Kristy Lee Cook definitely deserved to be in the bottom 3 for her performance on Tuesday night, I thought Ramiele needed to be there as well. Ultimately, David deserved to go. He sang like he was on a Vegas stage; the cheese factor was HIGH. He reminded me of Taylor Hicks with all the dancing. Now that he is gone, I hope that the weak ones will continue to be weeded out so that we can look back and say that this was the season that people got it right. I've said it before, but Idol needs to have a winner who can sustain a career this time. The show can't afford another in the string of mediocre singers with no hope of a successful career.moreless
  • The first of the top twelve leave.

    8.0
One must leave every week, so this week was no different. I wouldn't say David H. was the best choice neccassarly, but he was bound to leave before the top 8. The bottom three were correct anyway, so there's nothing else to want. To get a ten Kristy Lee or David A. would've had to left, but I wasn't dissapointed at the choice America made anyway. It's not like David H. would've won the show. So next week I am definetly wanting to see Kristy leave, unless David A. totally messes up. I am also estranged that Paula and Randy thought that Syesha shouldn't have been in the bottom 3, but changed their mindes later... so it was a great eppy...moreless
  • David Hernandez says goodbye to American Idol...

    7.1
After looking at the bottom 3, I think America did get it right. Actually, there were only a few decent performances from this Tuesday night. Syesha Mercado did sing well with "Got to Get You Into My Life." However, it sounded forced and she felt uncomfortable. Simon did mention it was a huge improvement over last week, but she landed in the bottom 3 anyway.

Kristy Lee Cook took a risk in making a country song out of one of the Beatles' hits. I don't think she took it in the right direction. However, she does have a fan base that believes in her. So there were points awarded to her for taking that risk.

Which brings me to the man of the hour. David Hernandez tried to be upbeat, but at best, he was frantic throughout his performance. My guess that coming off of the past two weeks, his confidence allowed him to pursue that song choice and his take on it. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to find that fine line between energetic and karaoke, which is what the performance was reduced to. Overall, I wasn't too surprised with the results. Someone's always gotta go home each and every week.moreless
  • Fine example for voting the wrong person off.

Holy *** this can't be true. After all I was sure that Kristy will leave but then ... The bottom three were ridiculous. I mean David Hernandez and Sayesha??? I was shocked and then David had to go home????? What did you do America? I always thought he had this great country voice and he was such a sweetheart. Still can't unerstand this decision.

Okay the rest of the show was great, especially Jim Carrey and the live calls :) Loved this 12 years old girl who asked Jason which judge he would like to be. Poor Jason ;) The new Ford music clip was great, too. Especially Carly and David Cook in the last scene and how they laughed about the dance moves after it :D

    Can't wait 'til next week.moreless
