Ryan Seacrest said he was going to ask the three people with the lowest number of votes to join him at center stage. One by one, Seacrest let Lakisha Jones, Gina Glocken, Jordin Sparks, Chris Richardson, Melinda Doolittle, Chris Sligh, Stephanie Edwards, and Blake Lewis know that they were safe. First in the bottom three were Brandon Rogers and Phil Stacey. The last two to decide the final spot in the bottom 3 were Sanjaya Malakar and Haley Scarnato.

Before Ryan Seacrest ended the excrutiating suspense, Diana Ross performed "More Today Than Yesterday" from her new CD "I Love You." In what was actually a surprise at this point, Sanjaya Malakar fell into the bottom three. Secreast sent Phil Stacey back to safety, leaving Sanjaya Malakar and Brandon Rogers in the final two.

In the end, Brandon Rogers was eliminated.
