    The song choices were a little bit better here tonight, but some of the performances continue to be really dull. I think Angie won the night overall, but Candice's last performance was very solid. No one really took the opportunity to break through and steal the night though ahead of the finale next week.

    • Each contestant sang three songs. The first was chosen by Jimmy Iovine, the second chosen by the Judges and the last one chosen by the producers. The songs sung tonight were:

    • For the first time ever, all three rounds had a different order for the contestants. This is just the second time ever that it has not been the same order, the last time being Season 10, Top 4. The difference is that it was the first contestant in round one sang last in round 2, where here it was completely switched up each time, as well, there were only two rounds then and three here. As with last time, no specific reason was given for the switch up.
