    Last night, we saw the guys with a huge improvement from last week's train wreck, we can only hope the girls pull-off the same miracle.

    Carly Smithson
    Last week the only thing she had going for her was her amazing vocals, but other than that her performance was boring. This week her vocals weren't as good, but her performance wasn't boring anymore, she was having fun and the song was more Carly this week. I think she will make it to the top 8 for sure, unless she gets Mandisa-ed.

    Syesha Mercado
    I actually really liked the performance, unlike the judges. I think it was a good switch from last week where she nearly belted the whole song, she actually belted out only the last part of the song this week, which made more sense then continuously screaming through the whole song. I really liked it, I have nothing against the song choice either.

    Brooke White
    The first girl to use an instrument on the studio stage and it really worked. She was able to show her capabilities with the song she chose and I believe that it was really the perfect song for her, like the judges said. She's one of my favorites at the moment and I think she could very well make it to the top 12 of this season.

    Ramiele Malubay
    Her performance was pretty rough during the beginning, and it only got good during the later part,towards the middle, but at least she ended it pretty well. I think she is definitely safe this week after the major pimping American Idol has done with her, so she shouldn't be worried.

    Kristy Lee Cook
    I didn't like her performance at all. The song was horrible, her vocals weren't anything special, there was no part where she really just stood out and made the song work for her. The judges really liked it, but I hated it. I think she'll get eliminated next week, she has enough popularity to make it through this week I think.

    Amanda Overmyer
    This is the only song I knew so far and I really like the song actually. I didn't feel that it was completely the wrong song for her, in some ways it was good for her, but yeah, if she chose another song her performance would have definitely had better quality. I didn't think it was bad, but it wasn't too good either.

    Alaina Whitaker
    Her performance was forgettable, nothing worthy to note about it, the first parts were pretty bad and it only got decent towards the end, which was a good thing (duh) and I'm a big fan of hers, so I was disappointed to see her kill the song.

    Alexandrea Lushington
    I liked her voice on the song, it was decent, it wasn't really special or anything, but compared to Alaina, it was a relief. I didn't really have in mind what the judges said about how the song was too small for her, I just thought it was the wrong song, maybe not a song too small though.

    Kady Malloy
    I'm writing this as the judges speak and I already forgot her performance. I didn't like the performance at all. Her vocals were off, the performance wasn't particularly that good, it was just a wreck and the song was also definitely the wrong choice, but then again I don't think that song would work on anyone, it wasn't a good song.

    Asia'h Epperson
    She's my overall favorite of the night and she ended it with a bang. The beginning was rough, definitely, I have to point that out. If you forget about that beginning part where she just suffered quiet a bit, I would probably give her an 8.5/10, but I have to judge that beginning part as well and that is a very sad thing because I have yet to give anyone an 8.5/10.

    I can't even remember any one performance of the girls. They were terrible. None of them stand out to me. The guys this year are amazing and the girls are just...forgettable. I might just stop watching the girl's night because it's a waste of time. No great singers and no arists that I can see making a good CD. Paula annoys me so much. I swear. If I have to watch her mumble through a critique one more time I'm just going to go crazy. Just say they suck and move on. Anyways, the girls are disappointing and I really didn't like this episode.moreless

    My favorite of the night was Alaina Whitaker with her take on Hopelessy Devoted To You. I've always loved that song from Grease and she did a great job singing it. Sounded a bit like Olivia Newton John singing the song but she still did her greatest with this song. I loved Brooke White's You're So Vain, that was also one of my favorite performances from the girls tonight. Katie Lee Cook, stood out again to me, she is still my favorite, now that Joanne is gone out of all of the girls. I hope in the end Katie and David Cook go head to head to be the next American Idol.moreless

  • The girls are more consistent than the guys but none wowed me like David Archuleta did on Tuesday.

    First off was Carly Smithson and I loved her this week. This song suited her much better than last week and she seemed confident and healthy. And she was performing great which is why she was panting, she was giving her all! I agree with Simon she still hasn't found that song that will make her a superstar but when she finds it I know I will be amazed. 8.5/10 Next is Syesha Mercado. I really like her and that baby cry was terrific. And I didn't think she did as bad as what the judges thought. It is a guy song to sing, but she sang it well. I hope she doesn't get eliminated because she has some great pipes and can sing! 8/10 Brooke White, this was her week. I loved that she used the guitar on "You're so Vain" and she sang it really good. She has alot of personality that comes through when she sings and I hope she maked it to the top 12. Like Carly this song suited her. 8.5/10 I loved Ramiele Malubay last week. She was the best last week, but this week it was a safe, solid performance. But still not wowed by it. I think she has a great voice but it was the wrong choice of song. She's still a favorite of mine. 8/10 What a major improvement from last week for Kristy Lee Cook! I liked her better this week and she showed personality and I agree with Simon if she goes down that country route she could do really well in this competition. 8/10 I hated Amanda Overmyer's performance last week and although she was better this week, her whole image/performance as a whole wasn't. She is overhyped by Randy/Paula in my opinion. She hasn't delivered an outstanding vocal yet and I think she maybe close to elimination on Idol. 6/10 I really like Alaina Whitaker but I think that was the wrong choice of song but she sang it good. I liked her better last week as we saw personality and this week she looked kind of uncomfortable singing the song. I hope she doesn't go home this week as there is one other blonde girl more deserving to leave than her. I'll get to that girl in a second. 8/10 Last week I didn't really like Alexandrea' Lushington's vocals but I really liked her performance. This week I liked her vocals but didn't like her performance. She seems like a nice, cool girl but I don't know how much longer she'll last in this competition. 7.5/10 Now unto Kady Malloy. I thought she was much better last week than the judges gave credit for and I was hoping for a fun, fast song for her tonight. Well it was fast but it wasn't fun. She was pitchy the entire way through but I did like her ending power notes, they were very good. I think she has a nice tone but she seems off melody too. I think I just like her because she's hot and I'm the same age as her but she can't be given week after week to find that RIGHT song! It's not fair to the other competitors who pick the right song every week. 6/10 I disagree with what Simon told Asia'h that she is not a good enough singer to sing "All By Myself" granted the beginning was kind of messy but I think she hit the right notes. And she took a risk and I really would like to see her in the top 12 because I like her voice but I like her better when she shows personality in her song. But this was good, and she is always consistent which I like. And she looked really good with her hair down. 8.5/10 None of the ladies got a perfect 10/10 like David Archuleta did this week from me. But as a whole the girls are the better singers than the guys. (Hello, Luke Menard and Jason Yeager) who I believe will be leaving Idol this week. Here's who I believe will be eliminated this week. 1) Luke Menard 2) Jason Yeager 3) Alexandrea' Lushington 4) Either Alaina or Amanda (I want to say Kady but I call to vote for everybody to see who's line is busy and Kady's was always busy meaning she is getting alot of votes maybe for her looks. Alaina's line was open alot which is sad because I like her and voted for her. Let's see if she's still in the competition.) My Top 12! 1) David Archuleta 2) David Cook 3) David Hernandez 4) Danny Noriega 5) Robbie Carrico 6) Michael Johns Although I have a feeling Jason Castro will be in the top 12, he isn't one of my favorites. 7) Carly Smithson 8) Brooke White 9) Ramiele Malubay 10) Asia'h Epperson 11) Syesha Mercado 12) Either Alaina Whitaker or Kristy Lee Cook (Whoever does the best next week.)moreless

  • It was very hard to decide witch girls would be gone, but i choose Amanda Overmeier. Maybe the chinease girl will be the next to go? I don't know! We will just have to wait and see wont we? Who will go home tonight?moreless

    In yesterdays episode of American Idol, the girls performed. I actually didnt like the song choices they chose, and a lot of them were faltering. Brooke White, who was really really good, was actually, i felt,lip syncing. She chose the 70s classic "Your So Vain." And though she was perfect, it wasnt the right song choice for her, and once again, i found myself agreeing with Simon. Now, i have seen better girls perform on American Idol, but Alena Whitaker was amazing as well. Even if i had to choose a girl to eliminate, i think that i would choose Amanda.moreless
