  • I can't stand sanjaya

    "Great"
I watched tuesdays american idol after I missed about a week's worth of american idol. I can't believe sanjaya is still in the compeition. In my opinion he had the worst performance and he was the joke of the day. Though i can't deny the little talent he has, he cries for attention in every performance with his looks and the bad rep he has had. for the rest Haley had the best look. Melinda was the worst dressed. Lakisha looks like a girl at my old job. Gina had the best performance. Though i've liked Blake lewis from the beginning this week he was boring. Jordan Sparks had the most interesting song. Chris Richardson needs to change his looks since too many people are comparing him to Justin Timberlake and saying he's a Justin wanabe. If people had to chose Justin or Chris(hypotheticaly speaking) they wouldnt have to think about it twice. He needs to show he's different even if his style is close to Justin's. Living under someone's shadow isn't fun. I can't comment on his vocals today because i was just thinking on how much he looked like Justin.moreless

Sanjaya has got to go... He is ruining the show! Next time he is going to come like bald or something with his hair pulled out of his butt! I mean the Mohawk was a little ridiculous. did i say little? i meant to say horribly. im debating on whether or not to watch it next year. if Sanjaya does not go off, im going to put my hair in a mohawk and die. this is out of control! my favorite out of all of them is Blake Lewis. He is like awesome! I mean like the beat boxing thing is so cool. he sings like so awesome and i thing he should win.moreless
  • Well, it wasn't as good as last weeks British Invasion, but it was pretty decent.

To me, I would still think that Blake and Jordin would make it to final two (possibly Melinda too). But as for tonight, they were both surprisingly not that good. Blake who sang "Love Song" was boring, there wasn't that much to it, and it was just mellow and not that great. Jordin, did good but that was it. Good. She sang "Hey Baby", but at my taste I'd prefer her to sing more Ballad songs, rather than uptempo. She can still sing anything anyways so good for her. What about Melinda? Well, I remember that she sang a Disco song and it was the same old thing. The expressions, the vocals, the dress? Simon didn't like it but since I'm not a fashonista too, I won't say anything about it. What else, Gina did good last night too. It wasn't her best, in my opinion wasn't the best performance of the night either but she sang that song very well. Phil I would say did best out of all 10. He sang that song beautifully and he should sing that way more later on in the compition. The others, I don't really want to talk about...moreless

    "Good"
I honestly thought this episode would be pretty bad, but overall it was probably the best night so far. The episode was a little rushed though, one of the things I did not like about the episode.

Opening the show was LaKisha Jones doing, "Last Dance" by Donna Summer. I really liked her performance, though it was not her best, but it was a lot better than last week's performance. For some reason I seem to be the only one who did not enjoy her performance last week. Great job by her this week though. 8/10.

After the break, Chris Sligh decided to do some The Police, performing their hit song "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic." I really liked the performance. Though I think it was not as strong as his previous performances, it was still a good job by him. When listening to do the song, I could really tell it was a challenging song to do. It really is a given that the song is difficult since it is a The Police song. 7/10.

Following up Chris' performance was Gina, doing "I'll Stand by You" by The Pretenders. I found it less rock than the usual Gina performance and also less active than the usual Gina performance. Being less active, she was able to concentrate more on her vocals, which I thought was a great idea because what separated this performance from her previous performances was the amazing vocal it had. It was really her best performance to date. 8/10.

Sanjaya decided to surprise us after the commercial break, doing "Bathwater" by No Doubt. I found it an improvement from his previous performances because since he can't sing, we'll just all have to accept the fact that he'll be this year's Jasmine Trias. We'll all just have to rely on his hair style to entertain us and his performance (not including vocals) for us to judge. Nevertheless it was poorly done. 4/10.

Haley, whose performance last week made her one of the most searched people on Yahoo!, came after Sanjaya. She decided to sport a classier outfit when she performed "True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper. I noticed her vocals suffered in very few parts, but it really wasn't as bad as the judges said it was. I have a feeling Haley will be going home, but we can always hope for the best that Sanjaya stays away from our living rooms right? It was a good performance. 7/10.

Phil Stacey was one of the two contestants to perform after the commercial break and he performed "Every Breath You Take" by The Police. That song is possible one of the most popular classics and probably the most popular The Police song. The good part was that Phil managed to pull it off and he also managed to surprise everyone. Will Phil be this year's Elliott Yamin? I'm suspecting. 8/10.

Next to perform was Melinda Doolittle. She decided to follow her fellow diva, doing a Donna Summer song entitled, "Heaven Knows." I'd have to say, it was one of the best Melinda performances. I actually liked it very very much. The great performers have been known to struggle in the top 12 after shining in the top 24 because of theme weeks, but not Melinda. Melinda hasn't had a single bad performance up to present. I believe everyone knows who is going to win, so now let's just ask, "Who will be in the finale with Melinda?" 9/10.

Blake Lewis was up next doing "Lovesong" by The Cure. There was no beat boxing, which I thought was great. Not that I don't enjoy the beat boxing, but I think it would be good for people to hear Blake just plain sing. Do away with the beat boxing. His vocals shined, but I did not like the song though. Good performance overall. 7/10.

Jordin Sparks did a very recent song. The song is by No Doubt, entitled "Hey Baby." She took a huge risk doing the song, and she pulled it off overall. By doing that song, she just proved that she deserved to be in the top 5 and that last year's curse of all the young contestants being eliminated is gone. It wasn't her best, but it was good. 7/10.

Last to perform was bottom 2 member Chris Richardson. He did "Don't Speak" by No Doubt. It was an ok performance. Not my favorite Chris Richardson performance, but it was good. He got it back together in the middle, but had a fair start and end. Overall it was a good performance. 7/10.

    Overall:
    Superb - Melinda Doolittle
Great - Gina Glocksen, Phil Stacey and LaKisha Jones
Good - Chris Sligh, Haley Scarnato, Blake Lewis, Jordin Sparks and Chris Richardson
    Poor - Sanjaya Malakarmoreless
  • Only a few good hit the right note.......

    "Mediocre"
UGH! What is up with this season? Where is the spark that American Idol used to have? Now, the first one to go under my microscope is Blake Lewis. I really wish he would have beat boxed a little bit but I still thought he was pretty good. I agree with Simon, he is kind of doing this Chris Daughtry thing by doing his own thing and I like that. But, I do not really agree that he is the leading man. Next is Chris Richardson. I really do not see why people think he is so good. His voice is so whiny and nasaly(is that a word)? And I don't think he is hott AT ALL! Not that that really matters........ Time to talk about Chris Sligh. Now, I really don't think he was that bad except for his tempo problem. He is always like a beat and a half ahead and it bugs me SO BAD! Otherwise, he still deserves to be there. Now, let's shine the spotlight on Phil Stacey. I love him TO DEATH! I think he is the most adorable guy and he is the best guy singer. He really did good with that Police song. Oh my gosh Gina Glocksen blew me away! She has such a strong voice and that song really showed it off. I just hated her outfit it was not pretty. But, that's her style! One question, why is Haley Scarnato still on the show. I defenitly thought that this song was the worst one she could choose. It was too big for her voice and she had pitchy little things through out the whole thing. Well, I've got to say this, Jordin Sparks did her thang! I loved how she sang Hey Baby cause I have known that song for years and I'm glad someone sang it and sang it well. Lakisha Jones was alright. Just like all her other performances. Now, Melinda Doolittle, I think she is good and everything but there is something that just makes me dislike her for some reason. She seems a little fake. Well, she did alright, it didn't blow me away. Ok, Last and DEFINITLY least, is Sanjaya Malakar aka Sangina. Ugh! Why Howard Stern, why must you torture me? Vote for the worst, yes he is defentily the worst. You know what, I don't even remeber what he sang and I don't really care cause I know it was horrible. Let's just say he is as bad as his hairdo was. I just think he did it cause he knows he can do whatever the heck he wants because he knows he will still be there next week. And one think that bothered me was how Randy and Paula were like 'oh if you really tried you can sing.' YEAH whatever! At least Simon was realistic and said 'It doesn't really matter what we say anymore does it?' haha now that is the truth! Hopefully next week won't be as painful!

Disapointed viewer(not unusal with this crappy show),
