Simon (to Haley): It was actually like being at a reasonably good hotel and that was the last song of the evening.

Simon (to Antonella): Well, the good news is, you are attractive. The bad news is, that didn't work, it was way, way, way too big for you, that song, and I think this has seriously damaged your chances of remaining her another week.

Simon (to Leslie): You're a very nice girl and you're a dog walker. I mention that because you look embarrassed and ungainly when you perform, as if you were walking your dogs.

(After Ryan praised Alaina's "passion" for music) Simon: Good, then we can enter 'Passion Idol.'

Simon (to Amy): You have the personality of a candle. There's nothing to remember, you're just like this thing that sings and then two singers later, I'm going to forget you. Even what you're wearing, your hair, everything at the moment is forgettable.

Simon (to Nicole): I thought it was indulgent, it was aggressive, it looked unnatural, it looked fake.

Simon: How old are you? Haley: 24 Simon: Well you sounded 40, that was the problem.

Simon (to Stephanie): You were a million times better than any performance we saw last night. Unlike yesterday, it looked like you came out and said 'I want to win American Idol' and that's what it's all about.

Simon (to LaKisha): I am very tempted to say to 23 people, 'Book your plane tickets home.' Well, I'm sorry, that was in a different league.

(Judge comments to Jordin Sparks) Randy: Jordin! All right so, young Jordin Sparks. God! You know, ok look. There was some good things about it. One of the things you got to remember for yourself, you got that big old voice, you some of the most unbelievable natural talent up here. At the end you kind of showed that, but I mean, pick songs, challenge yourself. Don't be afraid. You can do it. We tell people all the time to pick songs that are not that are too big for them. I don't know if there are any songs too big for you, so go there. Paula: And the good thing is you are already starting to go there with some great song selection. You were kinda a little tentative at first, but you came into your own and it was fun. You really do have that natural talent. Go for it, go for it, go for it. Simon: You know, we've seen a big change with you. You know, the first time we saw you, it was a very typical sweet audition. As Randy said, you've actually got a very, very good voice. And the great thing is your 17 years old, your choosing songs, which I think are a bit younger, which I think, is terrific. I think, push yourself; you might surprise some people in this competition.

Randy: (to Lakisha Jones): Listen, let me just say something to you right here. I do love you! You remind me of one of my favorite singers in life Karen Clarksheer! You laid it out on that stage, Jennifer Hudson watch out!

Simon: (after Alaina sang "Brass in Pocket") The irony was you kept singing that line, "I'm special," and it wasn't.
