First of all, you could tell that more girls came to Hell (Hollywood) week, so the judges could really pick only the best. Many of the boys were average at best.

The performances I can't remember (day after the airing of the show): Alaina Alexander and Leslie Hunt. I was glad to see Amy Krebs and Nicole Tranquillo leave, they were horrible. I hope next show Antonella Barba and Alaina Alexander will take a hike back home. The song choices by most contestants were safe and boring, it always happens at this stage, and it's annoying the contestants keep making the same mistake each year - Watch the show, damn it!

The best performances, I think were Lakisha's and Stephanie's (she reminds me of Fantasia sometimes). If it was "Personality Idol" I'd let Melinda Doolittle win, she's so sweet and also a great singer. Sabrina Sloan, Jordin Sparks and Gina Glocksen (the only white girl there who can sing :) ) also gave good performances. Haley Scarnato did sound very old-fashioned.

Thanks to the great performances by Lakisha, Stephanie, Gina and Melinda the other crappy and safe songs didn't matter.moreless
  • Sabrina is the clear out winner

But what was Antonella thinking? She had her hair severely pulled back and she must have searched high and low for that gawky blouse--one word--UNFLATTERING. No one wants to watch a librarian out there. I bet the judges were holding back from commenting on that when they critiqed her. She could learn too late that one needs to dress the part of an idol. She was the worst dressed of them all.

There were about three major good singers. What's with the black nailpolish all the women were wearing? I mean it looked trendsetting on Paula, but then every one of the girls trotted on stage with the same getup until it was no longer eye-catching.moreless
  • The top twelve females were much better than the top twelve males, though the show still dragged on.

    7.5
After the absolutely dreadful show two nights ago where we saw the top twelve males bomb during their performances, I was hoping that the top twelve females would make the two hours between 8 and 10 P.M. go by much quicker. Well, they did. Sort of. While I was not blown aways by their collectively performance, there were a few standouts that really salvaged the night. The best of the night had to be, without a doubt, Lakesha, who sang last and who earned Simon's praise. In fact, Simon thought that she was so good that he told the other 23 contestants to pack their bags and go home.

During tonight's elimination episode, I think that Antonella deserves to go home, I think that she has enough male support to stay in the game a while. Other than that, I could live with out Haley and Nicole.moreless
  • The girls were 10 times better than the boys!

The girls were 10 times better than the boys!

Stephanie Edwards: A She started the show great!

    Amy Krebs: B- Meh

    Leslie Hunt: B Just decent

Antonella Barba: B She wasn't as bad as the judges said, but her song was way too big for her.

Sabrina Sloan: A- She did really good!!

Jordin Sparks: B+ She was pretty good

Haley Scarnato: B She was Ok

Nicole Tranquillo: B She was Average Melinda Doolittle: A++++++++++ AMAZING! THE BEST!! WOW!!

    Alaina Alexander: Didn't watch her

    Gina Glocksen: Didn't watch her

    Lakisha Jones: Didn't watch her

The best girl by far was Melinda. She was amazingly good. I didn't catch the last 3 girls, though. Overall, the girls were a lot better than the boys.moreless
  • I thought Randy, Paula, and Simon where listening to the same thing this season. Although all the girls can sing there were 5 girls who stood out. All these girls have the talent to become a star in there on right. Lakeisha took the show last night.moreless

    8.8
All though all the girls can sing there were 5 of them who stood out from all the rest. Although each and everyone of them can be great singers, There can only be one. My perdiction for this season 6, The last 2 standing will be Lakiesha and Melinda These women are amazing and keep you wanting more. This season is going to be better then season 4. Although, season 5 was good it was boring to me I didn't watch the finaly. Each and every Judge is listening to the same thing I'm listening to, the sound of televisionmoreless

    • Simon (to Alaina): No one's going to be listening to that thinking, 'Wow, we just heard the best singer in this competition,' because there's three or four girls who absolutely blew you off the stage tonight. So you are going to be reliant on your looks at the moment, not your voice.

    • Simon (to Haley): It was actually like being at a reasonably good hotel and that was the last song of the evening.

    • Simon (to Antonella): Well, the good news is, you are attractive. The bad news is, that didn't work, it was way, way, way too big for you, that song, and I think this has seriously damaged your chances of remaining her another week.

    • Simon (to Leslie): You're a very nice girl and you're a dog walker. I mention that because you look embarrassed and ungainly when you perform, as if you were walking your dogs.

    • (After Ryan praised Alaina's "passion" for music)

Simon: Good, then we can enter 'Passion Idol.'

    • Simon (to Amy): You have the personality of a candle. There's nothing to remember, you're just like this thing that sings and then two singers later, I'm going to forget you. Even what you're wearing, your hair, everything at the moment is forgettable.

    • Simon (to Nicole): I thought it was indulgent, it was aggressive, it looked unnatural, it looked fake.

    • Simon: How old are you?
      Haley: 24
Simon: Well you sounded 40, that was the problem.

    • Simon (to Stephanie): You were a million times better than any performance we saw last night. Unlike yesterday, it looked like you came out and said 'I want to win American Idol' and that's what it's all about.

    • Simon (to LaKisha): I am very tempted to say to 23 people, 'Book your plane tickets home.' Well, I'm sorry, that was in a different league.

    • (Judge comments to Jordin Sparks)

Randy: Jordin! All right so, young Jordin Sparks. God! You know, ok look. There was some good things about it. One of the things you got to remember for yourself, you got that big old voice, you some of the most unbelievable natural talent up here. At the end you kind of showed that, but I mean, pick songs, challenge yourself. Don't be afraid. You can do it. We tell people all the time to pick songs that are not that are too big for them. I don't know if there are any songs too big for you, so go there.
Paula: And the good thing is you are already starting to go there with some great song selection. You were kinda a little tentative at first, but you came into your own and it was fun. You really do have that natural talent. Go for it, go for it, go for it.
Simon: You know, we've seen a big change with you. You know, the first time we saw you, it was a very typical sweet audition. As Randy said, you've actually got a very, very good voice. And the great thing is your 17 years old, your choosing songs, which I think are a bit younger, which I think, is terrific. I think, push yourself; you might surprise some people in this competition.

    • Randy: (to Lakisha Jones): Listen, let me just say something to you right here. I do love you! You remind me of one of my favorite singers in life Karen Clarksheer! You laid it out on that stage, Jennifer Hudson watch out!

    • Simon: (after Alaina sang "Brass in Pocket") The irony was you kept singing that line, "I'm special," and it wasn't.

    • Simon:(To Antonella on her performance) It ate you up, that song. It would be like Ryan doing the news, it just wouldn't work.
