When Mandisa went to talk to the judges the comments Simon made about her during her initial audition was brought up and Simon apologized.
Chris Daughtry got stuck in the elevator on his way up to see the judges.
The episode started with the opening credits rather then a speech from Ryan like most other episodes.
Mandesa: Simon, I wanted to tell you that you hurt me and I cried. But, I've forgiven you. You don't need someone to apoligize to forgive them. If Jesus can die for my sins, I can certainly forgive you. Simon: Mandesa, I'm humbled (hugs her) and I AM sorry.

This is the first time that there were no major changes in any of the Hollywood rounds from the previous season. The only change was a minor one, with having 10 people per group in the first round as suppose to eight.
For the first time Ace Young's name appeared as such on the screen. Usually it has his real first name (Brett) with Ace in quotes.

The Brittenum twins were both eliminated after getting arrested with theft and fruad charges.
