    • A preview of Beyoncè's new music video "Run the World (Girls)" was shown.

    • This weeks Co-Mentor was Beyoncè. Unlike all the other mentors this season, Beyoncè was not side by side with Jimmy, but rather mentored much like the mentors in previous seasons, however, she was only brought in for the first round, therefore making her a Co-Mentor. Also, she is the first person to ever Mentor during Top 3 week.

    • Singer Neil Sedaka was in the audience tonight.

    • Prior to the video clip of Jimmy revealing his choices to each contestant, the original auditions for them was shown.

    • After the video clip before Scotty's third song, Ryan's mic was turned on late.

    • Lauren messed up during her second song.

    • Before her second performance Lauren's pantyhose ripped so she had to quickly get make up applied to her legs while her video played.

    • During her first performance, Haley fell on the stairs on her way up to the stage.

    • Haley's dad played the guitar during her first performance. This is the first time a family member has performed on stage with a contestant.

    • Each contestant sang three songs. The first song was any song they chose, the second being a song chosen by Jimmy Iovine and the third being a Judges' choice. The songs sung tonight were:
