Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (6)

    • Jennifer Lopez's music video for "On The Floor" Ft. Pitbull had its world debut in this episode. This is the second time that a judge had their music video shown on Idol. The other was in Season 7, when Paula Abdul showed her song "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow" in which other judge Randy Jackson appeared playing base.

    • Ryan read results for both boys and girls in the same section of the episode. Usually he does boys, then commercial and then girls and then commercial and then boys again etc. or vice versa. This isn't the first time he has done this, but it is rare for him to do so during the semis.

    • Ryan mentioned that over the two nights of voting 40 million votes came in.

    • There was no Group Number this episode.

    • This is the third season that there is an uneven amount of girls and boys in the finals. Seasons 3 and 8 were the other two. This would be the first time since season 3 that there are more girls than boys. There are 7 girls and 6 boys.

    • Ryan started off by revealing the Top 10 which were: Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Pia Toscano, Karen Rodriguez, Jacob Lusk, Casey Abrams, Thia Megia, Paul McDonald, Haley Reinhart, and James Durbin. Next the Judges revealed who would sing as a Wild Card and those were: Ashthon Jones, Stefano Langone, Kendra Chantelle, Jovany Barreto, Naima Adedapo and Robbie Rosen. Then the judges revealed that Ashthon Jones, Stefano Langone and Naima Adedapo were through making this the second time there was a Top 13 (Season 8 the other). The rest were eliminated and those are: Brett Loewenstern, Clint Jun Gamboa, Jordan Dorsey, Jovany Barreto, Robbie Rosen, Tim Halperin, Julie Zorrilla, Kendra Chantelle, Lauren Turner, Rachel Zevita and
      Ta-Tynisa Wilson

  • NOTES (2)

    • The Wild Cards were allowed to sing a song they had previously sung at any point this season. The songs sung by them were:
Ashthon Jones-"And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" by Jennifer Holliday
Stefano Langone-"I Need You Now" by Smokie Norful
Kendra Chantelle-"Georgia On My Mind" by Ray Charles
      Jovany Barreto-"Angel" by Jon Secada
Naima Adedapo-"For All We Know" by Hal Kemp
Robbie Rosen-"Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" by Elton John

    • This is the first time ever that the Wild Card night does not have its own episode, but rather is shared with a results episode. This is the third time that America has no say in the Wild Card. The other two are Season 1 and Season 8.
